Snell Get Sum “New Fall 2022”

Interesting that Snell is releasing the new Get Sum at this time of year, their two-piece ionomer ball, and the description of the changes sound intriguing. Let us know if anyone gets these and how they perform. I’m curious…

I have played the Snell MTB Black for the better part of the last two years. Great ball. Their stuff is durable and consistent in my experience. Though I am testing the current Titleist Proto 348 and finding it to be a great ball as well. The big advantage of the Snells is they are cheaper and you can order (when supply is good) multiple boxes at an increasing discount.

I saw an email from Dean about a month ago that promised new versions. I started out playing X a couple of years ago then switched to Black. Unfortunately with the supply chain issues he's had plus the increased shipping charges I switch to Vice Pro Plus. I would like to support Dean and this business but he's getting out marketed by Vice. I just ordered 5 doz Pro Plus at 28.99 and a $6. shipping charge. The Pro Plus plays as well as the Black. One day when I can get the 5 doz pack of Black in yellow I'll probably be back - just to support him.

Quote from Dean’s 1/5 WRX post:

“Next month I should have all the final protos and plans ready to be ordered and plans for 2023 can be released when we have the final details.”

I probably never would have switched from MTB Blacks if not for the outages and rationing, makes me sad as I really admire what Dean Snell has done. With Snell’s price increases plus shipping, MaxFli Tours were as much as $10 a dozen less, and I’m used to them now. But with MaxFli’s recent price increase the difference is less. Don’t know if I’ll go back, but I hope Snell can resecure their supply chain - they didn’t deserve the disruption that the pandemic caused…

I've played the MTB-X for the last year.  I looked at Snell's web site,  and if you buy 5 dozen, the price comes to $33/dozen, shipped. I'm a "Buy American" kind of guy, and have been looking for a reason to switch to the ProV1x, but the difference in performance based on MGS labs most definitely does *NOT* justify an extra $22/dozen!

Yep. Kind of hilarious how many people raved about how much they loved Snell and what they brought to the table, being a small DTC company that's thrived and succeeded, but as soon as economic issues hit it's right to the Maxfli or something else that's mass produced.

God forbid Sub70 ever get hit with some issues, otherwise we'll suddenly have a whole bunch of golfers here suddenly playing Tommy Armour clubs.
