Getting ahead for week 12, I tried to book a 12:12 tee time, but someone beat me to it on both courses.  May have to play another venue.  Need to have a time on 12/12 at 12:12 for week 12.

One of our 9's opened up today after 4 months - the greens on our Falcon course were completely redone. Played the front decently with a 42. The back - which had the new greens  were much slower and ended up with a 48.

p.s. the new greens are my excuse and I'm sticking with that excuse for the 48. 🙃

This weekend was highs in the 40s and 50s but today, we made it to 71* and I went straight to the course after work. Can't pass up a 70* day in December.

I didn't make it to the course until 4 so I was short on time but I powered through. Ended my round in the dark again but had an awesome 18th hole:

  • Tee shot was my long drive
  • 2nd shot landed on the green (wrong side but hey, I was aiming at the clubhouse and had no idea where the pin was.
  • Used the lights on my cart to kinda let me see the green but was mostly going from memory on the break. I had a stupid long eagle putt that came up about 2 feet short.
  • Tap in birdie to end the day!

One of my best rounds yet and one of my best feeling rounds. Everthing was mostly straight and I made a few putts that I had no right making.

Pretty quiet so far this week (including me... I've been tied up with some unexpected work responsibilities and it has limited my ability to visit the course... but hopefully will be back out there soon!).  Looking forward to seeing all the late week and weekend rounds post...

Had a really poor outing yesterday, the weather in Victoria B.C. has been a little cold and my course has had frost delays and temporary greens for the past week or so and yesterday the entire course was open. we instituted "multi matts" last year to help maintain the course in the winter (I believe that would be a good topic going forward, the multi matts could be very useful in areas such as ours that are on the cusp of staying open in the winter months) and the greens were very very good for this time of year, probably running 8 on the stimp, really smooth and consistent. I hit 11 fairways, 9 greens and had 33 putts that added up to 79 at the end of the day. Came off the course really dissapoined, and the was with 2 birdies as well... I will climb back on the horse today, go to the range then play again tomorrow...

Getting an Arctic wind in Scotland this week, sub-zero temperatures, hopefully get out Saturday but with -4'C overnight we'll probably be on temporary greens and frozen ground so not favourable conditions to post a decent round. As soon as we go on the temp greens I take it as a non counter anyway.

I played Timber Creek today. Drove the ball well, approach game was pretty salty, sand game perfect, but my putting was horrendous. So, a round that should have been right around or below my handicap turns into a 14 over par round🤮

Foz has had some great weeks on this tour.   Finally...  I have a slim chance to beat Foz this week, but I'm stuck inside with below freezing temps and snow on the ground.  Why is that?  🥴

I have been struggling since my course handicap dropped to 11.  But, alas, I am able to play as we have had absolutely wonderful weather the past two weeks.

Finally!  For the first time in a couple of weeks, I finally had some resemblance of a golf game.  I finally hit my approach shots close, hit some excellent chips and made my putts.   image.png.2cb4a71cddc460cc46d833aa565ffc4d.png

Even though my fairway hit was lower than my 77% rate for the year and my GIR was only 6%, was able to score.  The round included 5 up and downs and only 23 putts.

My former head of manufacturing operations always told me "one is an accident, twice is a coincidence and three is a trend."  What we had today was an accident!

Course played good today. Last night some teens in a local side by side, drove over 5 greens.  Th3 GM was still there@ 10:00 and got a pic of them plus called the popo.  He posted the pic on the community FB page so hopefully they will be identified soon. Damage was minimal but still some damage.

Finally had a round come together without multiple big blowup holes and several natural pars. 6 net birdies and 1 net eagle! The driver cooperated, the irons were good, decent green side play, and only 31 putts.

Looks like whatever you were working on (maybe subconsciously) is finally coming together.  It's about where I feel I am in my game, expect your rounds to be erratic, but getting better overall for a while.

Scratchy round, running late after a late night probably didn’t help. Short game was better than recently, scrambled well after approach game was a bit off.

2 worse than handicap was about where my game was. My longest drive was one of my best for a while, got hit the perfect line to take advantage of the downslope

Nice day on the course, probably 5-6 degrees celcious, greens are in great shape for this time of year, overall a fun day...

A lot of raining days so not able to get to the range to maintain any kind of feel and consistency.  Had a playable day with sun and 70s but the course was drenched.  Disappointing 46/42 with quite a few miss hits on shots I normally execute.  Drives were decent with 10/14 FIR but only 5 GIR.  8 approach shots just short - I think the drenched conditions really affected club face contact.  Putting not too bad (for me) with one 3 putt and one 22’ made and a few that rode the lip.

Had an unexpected weather window yesterday, and managed to get out for a quick round at Raspberry Ridge.

Course handicap is a 14 (on a par 68), and and I shot a gross 77 (+9) for a net 63 (-5).  7 net birdies, and a long drive of 248. Overall not a bad day!

Well, I hoped to scare you all with the amazing round I had, but it turned out to be just a normal day.  Nothing to brag about score wise, but was hitting tee shots pretty well.  Everything else had ups and downs, including the ups and downs.

Maybe the last week I play with my current bag build.  Went through a PXG fitting this week and wound up building out the top of my bag a bit more.  Should have a new driver and a wood (first time with any seriousness!), as well as got my new 0211 22° hybrid tweaked.  With a free swing coaching session during the fitting and the gear tweaks, I got a heck of a deal from the $25 mobile fitting session.  That $25 was applied to the purchase I made for the new gear, and it was the same cost as the website.

This is the way.

WEEK 11 FINAL LEADERBOARD

MYGOLFSPY FORUM MEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR

====================================================

A bit of a quiet week for the VWCT, including from myself (I hate it when life gets in the way of golf!!)  But we still are seeing some great scores posted even through these winter months!

WEEK 11 WINNERS

Low Net Score To Par:

image.png

image.png

image.png

With a 4 under (-4) round at Angel Park - Palm Course - @PeterHenric claims the top spot for Week 11.

@snicerz was within a shot of the lead with his -3 round, and @Golf2Much rounded out the top 3 with his -1 round.

Most Birdies or Better:

image.png

image.png

No surprise that @PeterHenric also has the most net birdies this week to go along with his low net score - but since he is already wearing the MGS VWCT Black Jacket... we have a 2 way tie for the Net Birdie Badge, posted 6 net birdies or better each this week.  However... since I will be talking again below about @snicerz.  this week's birdie badge goes to @fozcycle

Longest Drive:

image.png

image.png

image.png

With a drive of 316 yards, @snicerz will be sporting the Longest Drive Badge for Week 11, just barely outdriving @Blueberry_Squishie  and @Peaksy68 with drives of 313 and 307 yards respectively.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in WEEK 12!!

Remember

PLAY OFTEN ~ POST OFTEN!!
