Fair, but all of those are significantly more.

Failing to see the point in linking all of those? Also the link for your gamer is broken.

Those are all beautiful, but as mentioned above - all SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the Sub-70 699s.  I don't think anyone's claiming they're forged - I could be wrong, but I think that's why I was confused by your original "these are not forged" comment - no one's (not even Sub-70) claiming they are.  If you only play forged clubs, I understand that's what you're looking for, but the cheapest of those sets you linked to is approximately $300 more than a set of the 699s - and half of the links are for heads-only.

If I'm misunderstanding, by all means let me know - just curious as to how these not being forged is of real concern to someone looking at the 699s.

Thanks!

Really having a hard time with the logo, I enjoyed the sidle smaller logo on the originals. I’d love to give them the try but the old adage of having to like something cosmetically applies to me

Maybe if you see them in person at address that will change? It is nice that the badge doesn't show when you are hitting the club... also in black it doesn't really look as much like a badge.

Curious...could we get some kind of qualitative value for how much more forgiving the V2 model is vs the original?

I do recall seeing something about it and I will try and find it, but not sure if it was on youtube or one of the press releases. I thought it was something like 8% more moi, however please do not quote me on that as that is just what is sticking out in my head, but with so many releases and more I could be very very wrong.

Either way I will try and hunt that done. In the mean time the MGS Blog article does talk about some of the differences.

I wasn't a huge fan at first, either, but ... something about it has really grown on me.  Perhaps because I only look at the black ones, where I think it looks a lot cleaner?  Not sure.  I think at address all those issues would go away, but I hear you - hard to bag something you don't like looking at after shanking one into the trees (is that too personal?  I rescind my comment, your honor). 😉

I’d love to have seen them make a more forgiving version of the TAIII for the 699. They would have had a really cool and clean look

I was excited when I saw these come out since I love the ones I have.  I went on to the Sub 70 site and put my set together. Moving on to the next step I looked at the trade in program to see what my 699 Pro's (2 years old) were worth as a trade in. That was disappointing. Less than $140 and the new set with my shaft, mid-size grip was putting me at $880. That was a tough nut to swallow. Looks like I will be sticking with my current set a while longer.  But I like the new look.

I'm gonna guess that you'll get significantly more than that on a trading site (Say, B/S/T here, or even EBay?). Could help soften the blow of the new set.

(I'm a big fan of offloading things I'm no longer using to help pay for the next new thing...lol... Makes it more palatable add makes me feel like I'm not REALLY buying something new.)

I've always kept the last few sets in case I wanted to go back, due to the new ones not performing like I expected. When a new set just happens to show up. The third in rotation gets handed down to my son. He is not as gentle on equipment as I am because he never had to pay for any. Then his set I usually give away to someone getting into golf because at that time they are not worth anything no matter how great the condition is. I wish I could off load and sell but I get attached.

This was after giving away four complete sets.

Lol. My apologies for thinking your name was just a cute nickname. 😉

W-o-w. That's seriously impressive.

Is it impressive or really a sickness? With Nut at the end of my name I am leaning toward sickness and seeing a therapist!

New man cave complete. See it's a sickness!

The short answer is no.

All of my electronics (computer, tablets, phones) are company supplied. I can’t load any social media platforms. If I do it all locks up and I have to make the dreaded call to the IT department to remove the app and unlock everything. They even have key word lock ups. Don’t try to load Angry Birds. Angry is a lock up  word.
I am completely satisfied with my current 699 Pro’s but shiny and new is like a magnet to carbon steel for me.
