If I am sharing a room, someone better be able to endure some loud snoring (even those in the other bedroom will be subjected to “overflow snoring“). I am told that it gets even worse if I have anything to drink within several hours of going to bed.

Can we go over and play The Cradle after checking-in on Friday? I also know some excellent places to eat and drink in the Village of Pinehurst (I have played #2 twice, plus #4 and Mid Pines about 20 years ago).

Come to think of it, I have played almost every course in the Pinehurst area and Sanford, from a couple of rounds at Tobacco Road to most of the courses in and around the Pinehurst Resort. I have two very good friends who live there, one of whom lives a couple doors down from Donald Ross’ old home right on the course at Pinehurst #2

Yeah, I will check on the policy for the cradle, if you're not staying at the resort.  I think they do offer some limited outside times to it.  It would be a great way to kick off the weekend.

update: I just checked an non resort guests can reserve a time at The Cradle one day in advance.  So I guess it will be like getting your SouthWest Air boarding group, hititng the phone fast and fuious at midnight...ha

It’s not my wife who has told me that; it is my son, grandson, and all of the guys that I have gone on golf trips with for the last 30 years.

One, it kills me that I can't make this, but I have work conflict that I won't be able to get out of.  Two, as a point of order, if this is the first official MGS outing, then what was last year in Queenstown Rob?  Unofficial?  I feel cheated...

Have fun spies. 😂

Is there a option to just play without staying at the resort? I just live 45min away.

Yeah. Most likely.  I’ll check with the planner and see what the possibility  of adding some golf only tee times.

But you should ask @EasyPutterand @tommc23 How much staying in the cottage added to the whole experience.  Both of them originally were just going to golf and not stay on site.

This!  Although "unofficial", the golf was fun of course, but the camaraderie in the cottage is what made the Queenstown trip memorable and worth it.

Definitely especially since we cooked there and ate as a group that was so much easier and better than going out to eat somewhere
