My handicap suggests the senior tees or triple digits is definitely possible on the scorecard.

I'm thinking this really isn't a team outing, might be if we had picked partners and such some time ago but for the friendly outing and chance to be a tourist on some very nice golf courses I'm thinking it would be nice to record the individual round on SwingU app and see how it plays out with opportunity to look back on the round for eternity.  Very much like I will do with my Thousand Islands CC round a week after the meetup  and post those on the MGS Forum Virtual Tour [can you believe there is no MGS logo in the emojis?]

I think that’s actually the majority and would be me as well. 
 

I know I tread one or two posts about wanting a scramble one round.   Hey you can do both those that want to a scramble even if it’s just two…feel free.  And play whst ever tees you are comfortable with.   
 

there are no large prizes at stake here.  Maybe something small for a CTP but not much beyond that.   
 

Even if we went with a live scoring thing it would add enjoyment for the forum to follow along when they can.   It would only take one person in each group to post the score or scores for that group as he is riding to the next hole.   Agsin not a must so but could add a level of interest to things.   Nobody is going to care if one group has a scramble score and the other groups all habe individual scores.  
Maybe the scramble team of 2 or 4 could challenge @chisag to a friendly stake

You know, the easy way to change the whole focus of play is to change that word stake for the word steak.  A big juicy slab on an open grill and there would be no end of determination to be claiming that steak.

Here are the yardages and ratings for the tips and one tee up.

• Mid South - 7003 yards 73.8/146;  Blue 6577  72.1 139
• Pine Needles - 7035 73.5/134;    6435 70.8/129
• Talamore - 6840 72.4/132;  6534 70.4/129

I am probably leaning toward playing one tee box up.

Right there with you Chris.  I'm not entirely against playing from the tips, but the "regular" tees or one tee forward is my plan.

Interesting to see the slope rating is the same for Tips vs Blue for Mid South...

Looks like a bunch of good golfers in the group, but of varying ages and swing speeds.

If most of y’all are committed to playing your own ball then I would say be equally committed to playing whatever tees each golfer wants.

If you end up making too many birdies and are having too much fun you can always move back a set of tees during the next round.

Speaking of birdies, I’m happy to get an optional birdie or skins pool going for those interested.

Probably should agree on a few things as a group such as whether to “Play it down & putt it out” or “Roll it in the fairway & inside the leather is good”

Playing on new courses with people you don’t know well can be stressful.  I know it is for me.  My hope is that we can be relaxed, have fun and try to be chill out there.

We could live stream from a stationary position say that the back of the cottages  assuming a good internet connection.

we could give everyone (or a group) a shot at talking to the camera.

Definitely there to have fun and I agree, play whatever tees make you happy.   There are some lower handicaps and some higher handicaps.  

I’m not playing anyone for money so people can roll the ball, take gummies or whatever they want.    There will be a few giveaways so some things will need to be managed….not sure at this point how they will work since I don’t know the prizes yet, but probably a few CTP contests or who is nicest to me during the weekend

no reason to feel any stress,  met a few of the group at the MD outing and we are all there to have a good time.   Evenings will just be sitting back have a beverage of your choice and talking about life and golf.  Friday night should get rid of all that anxiety.

Totally agree having been on that trip too.  Ready golf is priority and that includes on the greens to help with pace of play.  After COVID restrictions I am totally good with flag in putting as it makes a great target and like in other threads conversation I don't really see the pin when I putt.

I am playing forward tees so y'all can play first if you're playing the back tees and those of us on the nearer to the pin tees will play ours when we move up.   I've seen how some of you hit and no way am I going ahead of you until your ball (first second or third one) is well on its way to wherever it is going.

For once I'm early. So early the bar isn't even open yet. Nice looking course too. 

Thinking on sneaking out for a round with some unsuspecting golfers. Maybe I can get some torment out of my system, so I don't take it all out on you guys. Pretty nice weather here right now. I haven't tasted the water here yet (if you know what I mean)!

With as much as we're playing in a short time on my poor back, I expect to be moving up a set of tees as we go!

I think I'm retiring as the Outing/Get Togethers, it seems to be bad karma for me.   I pick the location and date, then my body looks at my plans and just laughs at me    We're probably all better off someone else doing and me just waiting to see if I can make it.
