That's why it takes me 15-16 hours... lots of stops, about every other hour for a get out and stretch the legs.  I'm not as crazy as some would believe (or am I?)

We might need to petition MGS to add one - could come in handy in other areas as well (like if someone's being a pain in your...ahem.)

That's a bonkers change.  Where are you attempting to fly from?  I see you're in LI - obviously JFK would be ideal, but maybe La Guardia might have some options, too?  I mean, driving 2+ hours to Newark would be better than that flight, if it meant ANY kind of direct flight.  

 My family's from CT, and I'm pretty sure there's a small-ish airport in New Haven (If I'm remembering correctly) - any chance that drive might be worth it if you could find a good flight?  I know my brother flew out of there to go to Myrtle Beach to watch his beloved Huskies play in their CFS Bowl this past year, and he said it was pretty painless.

  Also, how about this for "sore butt" -  - maybe with a  follow-up?

(FWIW, JetBlue from JFK to Raleigh, direct, $238 nonstop (leaving at 12:35pm- return flight Sunday 2:30pm, but other options available).  $233 from LGA via American (but leaving at 6:30am...)

Seems like you might have some good other options that don't include driving

Just got an email from Frontier Air .. thought I had a decent schedule for NY-RDU and back, but no .. no longer.....

Flight no longer non-stop .. takes off later in the day, then stops in Orlando (???!!!???), then gets to Raleigh 9:03 PM on Friday.

I'm driving from Cincinnati. I learned last year that flying took more time than driving, once I added in the time to/from the airport, getting there with time for TSA, connections, waiting around time, etc. Even with taking 15 minute breaks every 2 hours, driving works out faster (about 9 hours with stops).

Also hoping that this time, like last time is going to have all of us gathering often to spend the weekend time together, having food/meals, drinks, and singing Kumbaya again  okay maybe not the singing as we must have at least one form of decorum, maybe.

My buddy and I will gladly share a cigar and a liquor drink with those that are interested.

Thanks guys for those suggestions! First step is try to get a refund from Frontier. If possible... Either way obviously cannot take those flights!

I'd picked that original flight as the airport is out on LI and actually much easier for me to get to, park at, get in and out of, etc. .. and the schedule and price were both good.

Yes there are lots of other options in the NY Metro area so back to shopping around.....

Sorry I've been behind on this thread, lot going on the last month. 

As far as room assignments, Once I get a confirmation of the actual untis and their location, hopefully they are all in the same building...whcih I belive they shoudl be.   we can start working on villa assignments.

My plan is to be there early enough on Friday to collect all the keys and info needed to check in.   If anyone has any particular roomate request,  you can post it or DM me if you dont' want to let our any secret "bromances" going on

Yeah, I'm sure most will want to hang out as they arrive on Friday night, I think there will be ample space to that in one of the villas,  maybe not as large as the fire pit area as QT.     Saturday night might be a bit differnt with the late afternoon tee times, we will have to figure out what eating plans are going to be, wait fo reveryone to head out somewhere or just order in Pizza or something.

You guys are awesome and I wish things would've worked out that I could make it. It's killing me because it would have been so much fun. I love reading all the posts here and really hope that @Getoffmylawn brings earplugs to handle the rumble coming from @GolfSpy_BOS side of the room.

Great news.  Looks like we solved the issue of the one room out of the whole bunch that had one queen size bed as opposed to two.    Now we don't have to draw straws for that room

Making some progress on my trip. Stopped by to see the Kings place. I thought the vibe of being in Graceland would give me some moves in preparation for some rolling, left, right, bobbing, and weaving around Pinehurst. Next stop I'm leaning toward Dollywood. Check in with Dolly and maybe learn a little something about flotation devices. Then check out some rides to get the feeling of the up and downs. Kind of equivalent to the trajectory off the club and landing of well ME! It's been a long winter so it's a quick fix.

Gents,

Some of you may have already seen the random thread that jmikecpa posted but for those that didn't, FUNNY thing happened last Thursday. Played a tournament out at Kiskiack Thur AM and then decided to check out another Mike Strantz course (Royal New Kent), since I loved the punishment (I mean the fun) at Tobacco Road. I walk in to pay and who do I find but another Spy (Jmikecpa), who was at our outing last year at Queenstown Harbor. He was gracious enough to stay and play (show me the way around the course). Gotta say, I liked the course a lot. So cool to run into someone who would go out of their way to spend a couple of hours with you and ensure a good time was had. I know that you all know the value of the MyGolfSpy forum but thought I would share a little bit kindness showed by another SpyGuy.... Can't wait to see some of you again and to meet you others... Play well and see you in a few weeks.... Thanks again Jmikecpa...

That was very cool!!! What a fun coincidence to be in the same golf shop at the same course at the same time (so.. did @Jmikecpa buy any putters..? )
