I wish I had the answer for you. 44s are clearly not made by people that wear 44s. A little more crotch seam and a little less ankle cuff. Cant be that hard to figure out.

Check out the Adidas tapered golf pants.  They have them in 44 waists.  I have a pair of the Ultimate365 and a three stripe golf pants.  The have leg openings at the cuff of 7-8 inches.  Plus, they stretch and are very comfortable.

1. Taking them to a seamstress to have them customized is not in the cards $$$$

2. Searching for "tapered" legs seems to be the key that I was overlooking.

3. Adidas and UA seem to be the only ones that fit the bill.
