Blade, Mid-Mallet, Large Mallet Putter - Which is for You?

Speaking of putters or in my case "speaking of putting strokes" did anyone notice Collin Morikawa's new putting stroke, not so much the "palms" thing, but what I noticed the most is he is taking the putter back on the takeaway a lot more than he used to, same as Jordan Speith and Patrick Cantlay to name a few, my take on that is that it is more of a "feel" stroke than a "mechanical" stroke and I believe that broke down for him under pressure, however I believe he should keep at it as the best putters on tour, two of which I mentioned are doing that.

You didn’t have a putter fitting. Your story implied you had a putter fitting and the fitter deemed the putter to be right because you made a 75 footer.

Azinger made a bug deal over it so it was easy noticed. Didn’t work on Sunday and need ls to work for more than 3’rounds to mean anything.

Not sure Spieth is that great of a putter. Based on 2022 strokes gained Morikawa is a better putter. Morikawa was 131 and Spieth 151

Maybe I should quantify my Jordan Speith comment about great putters, I should have said "he is a great streak putter" Although he has made a lot of money and won a lot of tournaments when he is on those streaks.

It was a funny story. I still laugh about it. It was a club fitting, putter fitting was part of it. Just take it as a funny story. Certainly we all have a funny golf anecdote that occurred during our playing times.

I alternate between my Odyssey White Hot OG 9 and my SeeMore FGP depending on how I’m feeling that day or the length of putts I think I see most often. I generally lag putt better with the Odyssey, but from 10-20 feet, it’s the SeeMore hands down. Inside 10 feet, it’s a toss up.

Only one big mallet ..bought a Ping Scottsdale Wolverine in 2012.  It still feels great on every stroke, and now that I am actually practicing my putting on a regular basis, it feels even better!

Scotty Golo and Cobra Supernova, always nice to have a 2nd putter if I start to struggle with one. A quick switch will help me get that back on track

Have always used blades (ping zing 2, ping anser) and just recently switched to a mid blade with a Scotty select squareback 2 and have had great success on the greens. I do like the looks of the phantom 5.5 or the odyssey 7 and eventually will pick one up to try out but right now, for me, If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Always gravitate towards blades, but finding mallets more and more appealing now a days. Way more consistent speed/roll for me. Just got fitted yesterday for an EVNroll ev5.1 short slant, haven’t purchased yet…. But I am oh so tempted.

The Versa alignment really helps me (left eye dominant, R hand putter) but man, my putting has been lights out with the #11 Triple Track.  I think I do much better overall with a mallet, and it's not even close on putts 10 feet and in.
