Yeah, that's what I was thinking, well I use the word speed loosely, but I'm starting to swing my Skilz weighted club every day for a few minutes. I went out and hit some irons this afternoon the HM HL and The T200, and I wasn't disgusted at my swign speed, it's pretty much where it left off in the fall, I fully expected it to drop 2 to 3 mph at least. So maybe there is hope that I can build on a higher speed, vs worrying about getting back to where I was..ha JohnSmalls, sirchunksalot, GolfSpy_APH and 1 other 4 Quote G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number

Golfspy_CG2
Well the shootout kicked off officially today. Well kind of officially, I at least have something to report on of the 2023 models. The Callaway Paradym. Of the 2023 models it is the first one I've hit and been fit for. And full disclosure, it might be the only one I get trulyfit for, the others I likely will order based on my past experience of shafts and recent LM data. So that will be one of the fun/interesting things about the Shootout, you'll not only hear about the heads, but several different shafts along the way on how they work for ME..of course as always YMMV So to start, I had a min fitting or demo with the Callaway rep on Thursday, got to hit both the Standard and X heads, didn't even try the Triple D, as it's not anywhere near my level. Tried 2 or 3 stock shafts he had on hand, nothing too exotic. I'm going to copy and paste from a recap I sent to a buddy who was very interested to hear how it went. But before I do, and I'll updat the original post with this. For those who don't know my swing stats, I'll recap here briefly. I'm 63 and have multiple physical limitations and limits on ability that keep my swing speed and numbers firmly in the slow to moderate at best aeas. My usual or daily driving distance hasn't exceeded 220 yards much at all when in season Often times it's closer to 210 to 215. My swing speed on Foresight is around 83 to 84 and on Trackman arond 78 to79. That is nromal and I've seen it played out many times oerr the past years. A good ball speed for me is low 120s with the average maybe 117 to 119, and occassionaly will see a 126 or 127. I'm going to do some off season work, I really am, and may goal is to see if I can get that average or normal up to 128 event 130! We shall see. As mentioned I'm not long, but I'm fairly straight, I play a slight fade that hardly ever turns into a slice, yet the next time I hit an intentional draw, will be the first. I often say I couldn't drawi if you gave me a pencil on the tee. My Smash Factor during a lot of practice seessions is usually in the 144 to 146 range. OK...Onto this weeks Paradym resutls. i'm going to post below, so this post doesn't become 10 pages long TBC Splatt, sirchunksalot, cnosil and 2 others 4 1 Quote G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number
Popular Post Golfspy_CG2
Callway Paradym Fiting at 2nd Swing Golf with Kevn Kraft---Yout Tube Star of the 2nd Swing Chaannel! The Stock Photo will have to do for now. I will obviosuly post in hand photos when I get it and get it on course. So since we were set on Paradym all we had to do was determine which head and shaft. It started out a lot like my session on Thursday I was hitting my driver all over the face and damn near missing the face on a couple...ha But mde solid contact on a couple good enough tto show us a base to compare it to. Now most of you know I have no ego shame in my game, it is what it is. So I don't miind sharing numbers that would get me laughed off the site at WRX...ha But they are real numbers sorry to say, and I know there are probably a good handful of guys here who might relate to these numbers...we should start a support group! So maybe it will help them. Now one thing, I've seen in the past. Trackman reads swing speed lower than and GC Quad or Mevo. And that was true today. Last week most of my swings were in the 83-84 range, with a couple low at 79 and one or two at 86. But 83-84 is what I'd say I was most at. Trackman today read almost al lof them at 78 and a few at 79. So 5 mph or so slower. Man as if I didn't already swing slow enough...ha I wont' bore you with thoughts on each shaft, the two best are shown bleo. We tried both the X and the standard head. He quickly decided he liked the Standard for me over the X. The draw bias inthe X wasn't giving me any more draw than the standard in the draw settting, so he said why not keep the option of moving that back to neutral if you ever need to. Next were shafts, We tried-everyhting in R flex Tensei Blue 55g HZRDUS Black 50 G (he said a brand ew option in 50g for them) Aldila Ascent 40G Adila Synergy 50g Cyper 45G Current Titleist HZRDUZ Black Gen 4 50g Aldila Ascent 40g Dispersion Chart The two that were best were the Aldila Ascent 40g and HZRDUZ Black 50g Both had the same swing speed 78.7 vs 78.9 Both ball speed of 117 and both had smash factor AVERAGE of 1049 I had one at 148 on each the others were all 1.49 or 1.50. Both these shafts just felt very good to me, like I was able to really swing them well. The difference was in spin, the HZRDUS had an average of 2822 spin and he Ascent 2425, so while they both carried 181 the Aldila had total average of 207 yards to 203 for the HZRDUS. Not a huge difference, but my two longest were with the Aldila 213 and 211 So certainly not numbers that are going to scare any of my opponents But the gains over the TSR were pretty signifcant, I was hititng it at max balls speeds of 108 and total distance of 174.....YIKES...again that was with hitting it all ove rthe face..actually mostly it was very high toe...prtty consistent out there from what we saw on each strike. The Aldila brought me back a bit towards the middle, stil favored slightly toward the toe, but not near as much as the 1.49 indicates. So gains over the Titleist were 38 yeards, but I wouldn't say that was all the club, a lot had to do with my swing. Honesty I should have gone back and asked to hit the Titleist again at the end, to see if I was a bit more warmed up. Now the ugly part. His fitting is complete with video from two angles and all the club path etc. My swing, I know I've always been a very OTT swing, at times I can control it to maybe -6 or 7 degrees Out to In. But today every swing with every club was around -12* out to in. I did a decent job closing the club at impact, to turn it into a decent size fade insteead of a slice. But I need to get that down the the -4 or -5 range at highest and I'll gain some big yards back. So the end reuslt is a Paradym Standard with the Aldlia shaft in 9.0 lfoted up 1 degree and set in the draw setting is on order. Actual release date is February 23rd. Not sure if I'll get it sooner or later. But I'm anxious either way. Great write-up CG2, especially all the added detailed information! Yeah. That surprised us as well. Kevin sai the 50g R is a new model for them. So I’m guessing it must have a softer tip than the typical HZRDUS. I had the Aldila 40g in my TSi1ast year and it had too much spin with that head. So maybe this is just a good combo for me. We also hit the Temsei Blue 55g and had decent speed with that as well but spin was over 3200 on each shot which killed the distance. so yes you are correct. Shows fittings don’t always reveal what you think they will. Golfspy_CG2
Just an exciting tidbit. I will be getting the PING G430 in hand by the end of the week. It will be the first one in hand to get some extensive testing. Well at least on the LM, and perhaps on course if we can get some decent weather days. GolfSpy_APH
There are simply too many good options. I do really hope an underdog comes out to won't, but think Paradym will take it. Really Really good, As solid as any driver I've hit, not harsh at all. And the sound while in my mnd not quite as perfect as the TSR, it was a very pleasing sound. 1 hour ago, Golfspy_Lukes said: If Rob had $20 for every time he heard that, he'd have broke even! Even?
