What Is Your Main Golf Goal For Every Round?

Course management is interesting, you usually don’t know until after a mistake. You can be too conservative and give away strokes, or you can take too many risks and give away strokes. Getting it exactly right isn’t possible? And it varies from day to day, e.g. when I’m not playing well I’m more likely to reduce risk, and vice versa. The best I can do is think things through in every situation and accept that I’ll get it wrong some…

I personally think this is the benefit of something like DECADE.  There isn't too conservative or too risky there is just the shot you should be hitting based on a the situation.  With that, the issue is not following the formula and letting emotion take over.    Part of learning DECADE is maintaining the focus for all shots.

I think my basic goal for each round is to always try to have an enjoyable round no matter what.  Secondary goal would be to try and increase my number of fairway hits and GIR. Tertiary goal would be to reduce or hopefully eliminate doubles or worse. Primary has to be enjoy no matter.

Break 80.

No doubles or worse.

Isn't that the truth!

Just like swing thoughts at night. Oh that should help fix this issue... Then on the range try it and nothing close.

Golf really shouldn't be that hard... And yet it is.

My immediate goal off every tee is par or better for the hole. Not accomplished enough, of course. Stepping back from that as certain realities present themselves during the course of play is to do all that I can to avoid doubles and 3-putts.

For the entirety of a round, my hope/goal is always to break 80. If playing very well, the high point becomes more of a sliding scale. Over the last 20, my average is just over 81. That's where I've been for a while, I'm wanting to get the average below 80.
