If you were going to take on the "Hotlist" with your own list but you didn't want to give away golds and silvers...what would you name your award?

Agreed with Moe on the name of list. Otherwise I'd keep it in tradition of the Ultimate reviews and had out letter grades to keep things consistent in the MGS brand for ratings. It would let people have a direct correlation of where things fit in this article/award list and the ultimate or forum reviews when someone wants to do direct compairison between clubs.

I'd call it the "SpyGlass" award. You could give the winner a little glass driver, iron, putter, etc. to commemorate. Or at least a digital representation of said glass.

Average clubs are Par

 

Above average get Birdies.

 

Well, above average get Eagles.

 

and really superior, like this was 1984 and Ping Eye 2 would get a Hole-in-One. I can not think of a club since then. Maybe the first TaylorMade Metal Driver. OR the Callaway ERC II but this is an award that is not necessarily passed out every year.

 

I guess if there is a club that is below average than they get a bogey.

 

And even double bogey if something warrants it.

 

As long as there is no set number for each. I mean if all of the drivers are just about the same, than they all get pars maybe a birdie or two if the score well enough but No eagles.

I like the idea of the 007 award, or make it the James Bond Award. The loser clubs could be the THP Awards....nah, better not, could use the Aldrich Ames Awards.

 

Alternative 1 - The Thermonuclear Awards - why bother with Hotlist when you can buy THERMONUCLEAR!!!!!

 

2) the Anti-Hotlist- clubs that perform even without paid advertising.

MGS Certified, if a club as that I know I can trust it to perform as it claims too. Only idea i can thin of at the moment would be to base them on level of golfer ie,

 

Major Winner - put it in your bag

 

Multiple winner - try it now

 

solo win - have a look

 

seasoned pro - no frills does the job

 

journeyman pro - doesn't really cut the mustard

 

tour school - back to the drawing board with this club
