If you can calculate a realistic course handicap...sure... I have a feeling you would be a "plus" handicap though!!  haha

I'm trying, last week course snow bound, gradually opening up this week, 18 holes open  today with a mixture of temp and full greens.

I'm having to compete with my wife's hair and nail appointments to get access to the car, so fingers crossed. Tomorrow I've got agreement to get an hour at Fairways indoor golf range with full Trackman bays.

This week might be tough to get out. Weather looks gross to say the least. Looking at the weather, I think a high of 48 on Friday and 55 on Saturaday are my only good shots.

Temp was 41* when I started and 45* when I finished. @ Guntersville AL this week visiting my SIL.  Forgot my shoes so I bought a new pair of FootJoys. Boy am I glad I did not try to play in my Rockport walking shoes…..the course was mountainous to say the least. I needed all the grip I could get as it was Cart Path Only.

so with a hurt back you would only be able to drive 315?  haha.

I came back to earth a little today.  At least for the front 9 (48/40).  For the first bunch of holes my iron shots were terrible.  My score should have been much worse if not for my putting.  I sunk 97 ft. of putts today including all four within 3-6 ft, all three within 6-9 ft. two of three within 9-12 ft and two of four within 12-18 ft.  22 putts in all.

image.png.7fc0ee52ac1785227306801e2fb13833.png

My game turned around after an unprobeable bogey on number 6, our number 1 hardest hole.

image.png.9217998e92c3db59180118982084b12d.png

I came over the top and pulled the ball to the left.  Taking my five wood, I proceeded to hit a weak slice just into the woods on the right.   After retrieving my ball and taking the penalty and hit an eight iron into a pretty stiff wind leaving me short and to the right.   I was 23 yards from the pin which sat about six plus feet above from where I was chipping.  I pulled out my pitching wedge, aimed to the right to offset the big right to left turn and sure enough it went in.  After doubling the 7th due to a bad pitch shot, I was only six over the last eleven holes.

One more round this week.  Hopefully I'll bring the game I found on the back!

Bro - it's KILLING me that I've been so MIA.  Christmas, Covid, fitting last Friday, and tomorrow I get to be the guest-Reader in my daughter's first grade class, which while ADORABLE, is at 1:30pm...right in the middle of what would be my round, lol.

I'm getting out next week, though - Thursday playing an awesome track for a buddy's birthday, so I'll be submitting then!

That was a pretty nonchalant way to drop that you got a hole in one and then follow it up with a chip in eagle?!

Interesting day to say the least - on the cool side, cloudy and windy. I stunk up the front with a 51 but came back stronger on the back with a  42 and that was against a strong headwind. Looking at my Shotscope stats the 2 areas where I fell short on the front were my driving distance and the # of putts. Just seemed like I had lower energy on the front. The reason for the lower score on the back? Probably the result of my getting ticked at the score for the front.

Haven’t played since early December.  I normally shut down golf from sometime in Dec until late Feb and just focus on conditioning (this year), or in the case of the last 2 years, injury recovery (knee surgery and back/disc issues).  Feeling great this year except for some tendinitis (from workouts) and hit the range a few times the past 2 weeks to prepare for a fitting.

Was a nice sunny day and had low expectations. Course was very soggy and CPO.  Parred the first hole (#1 hdcp hole), long, uphill par 4 with one of the longest drives I’ve ever had on that hole.  Slight Mishit my second shot (8i), and just missed  an 8’ birdie putt. Hole 2, great drive, slight mishit wedge but left with 15’ birdie putt that I made.  Drives were excellent all day (13/13 FIR), but irons were off the entire round.  For not playing n awhile, pretty satisfied.

Yesterday was a disaster and I learned a good lesson:  don't put a new club in play before at least hitting it once or twice.  My Ping G425 SFT replacement for a cracked G400 SFT came Wednesday, and I was excited about seeing how it would work for me.   Other than a relatively short driving net at the course, I have no way of practicing, so out to course it went.   The G425 SFT had the same Distanza shaft I had in my old G400 SFT.  Unfortunately, the draw bias on the G425 seemed to be more pronounced than G400 and as a result everything ended up left, most of the time way left!  By the end of the round, I had to place my hands more forward than usual and aim right to hit the fairway.  Typically, my fairways in regulation with my G400 driver was over 70% (but drive lengths in 175-180 range).  Today, I hit only 3 fairways and two of those were just in the left side.  Needless to say, my score exemplified my struggles, and it was worse than what I had already posted.   Hopefully I can get some help from Ping to see what other options I may have.

Hopefully I'll be back with better scores next week using the borrowed Callaway driver back in play.

I survived the week and while I'm still a bit sore/stiff, I was able to get out for a couple 9 hole rounds for my entry. The lesson learned (again) is just swing easy - the ball goes just about as far and it's a lot easier on the body.

Also, when there's a 30 mph wind behind you, maybe consider a shorter club ever once in a while. My long drive on the 28th almost made it over the hill and into a creek. I think for once, the cart path saved me since it sent the ball 50 feet straight up in the air instead of letting it roll out more like the grass does.
