2023 MGS Forum Newsletters

As our membership expands and grows we are looking at new ways get some of the great content on the forum to you. 

For several years we have had our MGS Newsletter with Trending Topics... previously known as Hot Topics which goes right to your inbox each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is taken from the Recent Content page and highlights some of the trending topics (as the title suggests) which are going on that day. 

We do our best to feature a variety of topics, however there are several areas which it does not include. This includes PGA Tour Threads among a few others. In an effort to bring more attention to some other areas of the forum we will be bringing in 2 new (optional) Newsletters which highlight these missed areas on the forum. 

The first will be a Tour Talk Newsletter which will contain a few topics.

- Tour Talk threads - PGA Tour, LIV Central Thread etc
- MGS Virtual Tour
- PGA Tour Pick Em
- MGS Fantasy Golf Recaps
- and others

This will run on Tuesday, Thursday and either Saturday or more likely Sunday. 

The second will be a Member Testing and Contest focused Newsletter. 

Be the first to know about any member tests that are coming to the forum, find out first when new reviews are posted, keep up with current contests that are going on and much more. 

As this will only run when we have content to feature it will come out Saturday as from the looks of it Member Tests will be announced Sundays on MGS Social channels and to give you our forum members a bit of an extra hop on it we want you see it first!

Both of these newsletters will be optional to view - if you are wondering how it is simple. Go to your account settings, select newsletters and it will show you the Newsletters you can subscribe to as well as the format to receive them in. 
 

 

Be on the lookout for when both of these launch and feature early February to stay up to date with all that is going on with the forum!

I know this has gotten little to no responses, however be sure to checkout your newsletter settings. 

As we approach the launch for testing season we will have a specific Testing Newsletter which goes out Thursdays. Be the first to know and find out about tests by registering for this Newsletter (will be enabled in the coming week). The rest of the world will find out about the test Friday, however you as a forum member will get early signup access on Thursday!

I guess I need to pay more attention to the newsletters.  I admit I ignore/delete the trending topic newsletter since I read the forum daily and it doesn’t influence what I read.

We will have the Trending which will only go out Monday, Wednesday, Friday

The Tour Newsletter will go out Tuesday and Saturday or Sunday

Testing will go out Thursdays

Didn't know this was a thing.  I have it set to send to email now, thanks for the tip!  And also thanks to @cnosil, it pays to follow members and see what they are posting to!

Running an update for our Newsletter which will hopefully be a little more all encompassing and highlight more areas more frequently. Be on the lookout for it tomorrow and feel free to provide feedback here!

One question - I’m only seeing a “trending topics” newsletter on mobile (see below). I’d love to see the other ones - is this something you’d have to enable? Or do I have more options on a desktop (not in front a computer at the moment).

Also there is a new Main Site newsletter which will be featuring MGS Forum content in its own section!

Hoping everyone is liking the updated newsletter! 

The tester Wanted are becoming a little easier as well.

Just a thought if there are certain threads you think would make good highlight threads for the newsletter then let me know!
