DStar
I was given a sleeve of the new TM Tour Response balls so thought I'd given them a go to see how they compared to the various Titleist balls I've been trying out. I was pleasantly surprised by the way they performed but really disappointed in the speed at which the one I used on Friday became scuffed. Anyone else had any issues with the durability? This ball did 18 holes with 3 bunker shots, not had a Titleist ball scuff up so badly: Not great tony@CIC, SpecialKPDX, GolfSpy_APH and 1 other 1 3 Quote RADSpeed 9° Matrix Black Tie X-Flex F9 3/4 Wood Aldila NV 2KXV Blue CLK 19° Hybrid Speeder Evo HB S MP54 4-PW Nippon Modus³ Tour 115 X SM8 50° F-Grind SM8 54° F-Grind SM8 58° K-Grind DStar 'Malvern' Putter AVX & -ProV1X Tour-X "Hey mister, your clubs are the wrong way round".. I have yet to see these in person, but I'll keep an eye out for a sleeve or two and maybe do some net testing. Quote as of Nov 6, 2023 (Past WITB) Driver: Paradym TD w/ GD ADDI 6X Driver Shootout! Really not impressed with them for durability so wouldn't think about buying them in future. It's a shame as they performed well around the course.. Overall good golf balls. The fancy paint jobs don't really draw me in, but I'll try anything at least once to see if it betters my game. I had the same issue with the Maxfli Tour CGs in yellow. I'm used to just tossing any ball with a visual defect straight into my shag bag. I burned through a dozen yellows so quickly that I actually dug back into the shag bag and fished a few out and confirmed that it was just the paint that was coming off, but the cover was fine. tony@CIC, ole gray and DStar 3 Quote Driver: ZX5 LS MkII 9.5* (@ 9.0*) with 46.5" Ventus Blue 6X 3-wood: SIM 15* with Diamana Limited 75S 5-wood: RADspeed 18.5* with Motore X F3 60S 2i: ZX with SteelFiber i95 Stiff 4hy: TS3 23* with Tensei AV Blue 70 S 4i-7i ZX7, 8i-PW Z-Forged, Modus3 Tour 120 S 50*, 55* RTX 6 Modus3 Tour 125 60* RTX Full Face ZipCore DG Spinner S400 Putter: Toulon Chicago with a Quad Tour or HB SOFT Milled 10.5S with UST All-in Ball: Chrome Tour (but I might still have some Left Dashes hanging around) Bag: Ltd Edition Tartan, blue/green/yellow Using to keep track of my shots Tested: D7 Forged 3i-PW, KBS Tour-V 110S - Official Review Blind Ball Test (Ball #3 vs Ball #4) - Unofficial Review V3 GPS Watch + Tags - Official Review Vero X2 - Official Review The Stack System - Official Review
tony@CIC
I'm not a fan of the ball after playing one for 18. Like @GolfSpy_APHI did like it's predecessor better. Parshooter36
It's definitely the paint. I had a dozen in yellow last year and the paint started flaking on all of them within a few shots. I've played yellow balls for a long time and had never seen that before. Brian A
I was given a few as well and saw the same issues. Yep, I game the Maxfli Tour Yellow, and the yellow scuffs up too easily. I think that's the reason they were discontinued for 2023. 03trdblack
Any ball that has paint applied to the surface will eventually end up looking like this. I mirror what others have said about the Maxfli tour yellow ball and it's the only complaint I've had with it so far. Some companies like Srixon and Titleist actually make the urethane yellow so that they don't have paint coming off. As for the TM Tour Response, other than paint coming off, the ball itself is extremely well made (according to the MGS ball lab). If you can get over the paint missing then I'd say the ball is worth continued play. Quote My bag is a revolving door!
No3PuttLaLa
Interesting. I have been playing yellow Taylormade Project a and have not had that issue. They have held up well for me. Like everyone else said, must be the painted stripe. cjwloszczyna15
I've been playing them for two rounds I haven't had many issues with mine in particular I do have one scuffing pretty badly but it just seems like the paint and not really the cover itself Quote CJ Cobra nova putter Pxg forged wedges Sub 70 659 cb irons Callaway rogue Driver
