I only asked 1 group if I could play through lol

 I didn't have my normal playing partners today, went solo and only had about 2 hours until I couldn't see my ball anymore. Teed off from the tips and sprinted the course. Surprisingly, not over thinking my shots seemed to help the shortgame issues I've had recently. Anyways, hopefully, the weather will clear up before the weekend and I can get out there again before the end of the week.

I LIKE that idea @snicerz  I could play a lot more rounds if they only took me 1:45!!   Of course, it is easy to play fast when you are hitting is so dang FAR!!  haha.

If you are playing as a single, can you really count your scores using GHIN handicaps? It is my understanding that under the revised handicap system you must have at least 2 players on the scorecard….just asking.

Today was a challenge with 20 mph winds with gusts over 27.  I won’t bother posting  statistics as they were not pretty!  I’m still putting the new G425 SFT driver through its paces.  Given the larger draw bias versus the G400 SFT (per Ping), I have the aim right of my desired target to keep my drives in the fairway instead of left rough.  I so used to aiming where I will hit it with a straight/ slight fade with the G400.  Ping said give it a few rounds and if it didn’t work out, they would take care of me.  We’ll see if Ping gets a call on Thursday afternoon.

I wasn't aware so went looking for the answer. USGA says the answer is "no". I've changed my submission and weather permitting, maybe I can get another round in with my group.

This whole thing is about the honor system. Are we really going to not let him submit his round because he played by himself? I don’t think that matters.

Yes, personally I don't care if you played by yourself, with your regular group or Patrick Reed as your ball spotter. This is just for fun anyways.

This week, my play has been "directionally correct."  Overall, I played better today versus on Tuesday.  Still not to where I want to be.  

My putting today was good and bad.  Due to poor approach shots, on several occasions I was putting 50 ft. or more away from the pin.  The good news is that I two putted when I was a long away from the pin.  The bad news putting was that for mid-range putts, I several near misses that just didn't drop and two putts that rotated 180 degrees around the cup before starring back at me!  

The three up and downs were fewer than my typical performance.  I'm still struggling a bit with the new Ping G425 SFT driver.  I still hit 64% of the fairways, but that's with aiming right.  Most misses are still to the left.  I find I'm not as comfortable aiming right only with my driver when with my G400 SFT the ball went where it was aimed.  I'm hoping for a better round come Saturday.

Wow, what a day! My best ever score at my new club….76 on a Par 72! Just strokes over par. I had 16 Pars and 4 Bogies(2 on front & 2 on the back). My ball was the Titleist Trufeel.  FIR: 8/14 57% GIR: 11/18 64% and 32 putts I did not do anything spectacular, just solid golf for 18 holes! Maybe it was the socks I got for Christmas…..LOL

I say count it for our purposes.  What's the point of being virtual if you have to always have someone else there.  We're all enough rules nerds that you should be able to keep yourself honest.  

Besides, you always have myself and I playing with you if you're a single.  Let's just call it the Royal Clause.

The garage floor is done so time to play golf! Wife and I were in our club's Valentine Mixed Couples event on Saturday. We had 226 participants - what a crowd. Game was best 2 out of 4 with both gross and net awards. We didn't win anything but I played decently especially given it was a competitive event; playing the ball down and no gimmes. Weather was great except it seemed like we were constantly hitting into gusty winds. My drives weren't long, but with one exception they were straight down the middle of the fairway. My shot of the day was a birdie on a par 5 (of course into the wind) with a 29' putt.

@snicerz- sorry for missing this part of the thread until now.  While USGA rules state you can't use rounds without a witness for official handicap purposes... I have said this before and will say it again... the Forum Weekly Virtual Championship Tour is about INCLUSION... not exclusion.  Your score counts for our purposes, because we are ALL honorable people here on the forum  .  You are only cheating yourself if you post an false score... I for one trust you and everyone to be honest in their postings... we are here to have fun and a little competition.    Un redact your scores if you please!!   Sincerely, WVCT Tour Commissioner GolfSpy_TCB.

All good Foz.  you were right in the USGA rules.  I understand them, and why they are what they are... we have the ability to lean on the honor system, which is nice.  BTW, thanks for helping keep this tourney alive during the cold winter months.  Always enjoy seeing your rounds when they come in!!

Started on the back nine with a par net birdie on #10... the #2 handicap hole and followed that up with a birdie on #11.  A bogey on #15 followed by pars and I finished the first nine holes at Even Par.  

Four bogeys on front nine; one being the #1 handicap hole #9, but a par net birdie on #7 is a difficult par for me.  Finished at +4 for a round of 76.  It was a scrambling round; didn't hit very many good drives.
