Popular Post JTL1380
Beautiful day here in western NC yesterday! Got to go spend about 2 hours practicing at my local course! First time I was able to make it to the range in a couple of weeks. It was absolutely packed! Lots of people anxious for Spring I think! Played in an indoor league over the winter, so I'm really looking forward to playing some "real" golf soon. tdroma98, Josh Parker, Byrnzee and 13 others 16 Quote PXG 0811XF Driver; Tour Edge E722 3w & 3h, C522 irons, SuperSpin wedges & Wingman Putter (1st gen); Patriot Golf F22 7w
Popular Post snoopy79
Morning MGS! Reading through the posts and it seems the majority of us are just happily confused about this spring-like weather. We can thank El Nino for the mild temps and golfer friendly weather here in Ohio and our sister states that are normally still in middle of old man winter's grasp. I got some solid time in yesterday honing the swing and getting my feels back. I will post that in the other thread. @GolfSpy_APH good luck with the final leg of the move! To all the testers on the Qi10 thread, I can't wait to read your first impressions! Lots of great things happening in the morning thread. Always a pleasure to read. Have a great day everyone. Even though iam at my winter place my laptop shows Traverse City Michigan weather as that's where I spend the bigger part of the year and having grown up there I would say without pause February is a brutal month and a big part of what used to be 200 inches of snow per winter would come then. Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, Ive been silent on here for a bit because of been blessed to spend my son’s wedding weekend with the entire side of my family welcoming a daughter to our family. I was privileged to be the officiant marrying Stephen and Kiera. I was with my parents, my sisters and their families and my aunt and uncle. The wedding was Saturday and on Sunday we explored the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park. A note to the veterans and active duty here. Popular Post cnosil
3 hours ago, THE GOLF GUY said: I agree with a majority of what you are saying , but I think you left out one key elements that is a very important and essential to putting well. All of the great putters do something that sets them apart and I believe it is the mental aspect of putting itself. You hear the great putters talk of "willing " it into the hole , "believing that they can make every putt", or when they are putting they are not thinking so much about all the technical aspects . I am no Jack or Tiger, but regarded as a great putter and said that "when he is on the green ,look out! My foursome would attest to that. I said all of that to say this , when I practice putting , I work on alignment, tempo (yes -the putter too) but when I play, I do not worry about results but have extreme confidence in what I am doing. No one questioned the intangibles associated with being a good putter like the mental aspect. The discussion was about how you evaluate if someone putting well; how do you measure state of mind without a player telling you their mental state/commitment for each putt? @Jim Shaw goes based on the notion of they won the tournament or finished top 5 so they had to putt well. His sample "data" is personal observation of who he felt putted well or who he felt made "clutch" putts. Basically a subjective observation on who does or doesn't putt well partially based on how many wins they have. Lets look at Brad Faxon; who many consider to be a great putter, but he didn't win a lot and lacked in other areas of the game. My evaluation is more scientific and based on actual putting performance numbers beyond total number of putts. Stroke Gained is the accepted industry standard to evaluation actual performance. If we look at the event from this past weekend, Jim would say that the top 5 finishers were the best putters. If we look at the data, we can see that they weren't the best and only 1 was iranked n the top ten putters for the week. I was wearing shorts yesterday too... it was only in the upper 40's so probably not quite the same "shorts" weather... but I'll take it! Popular Post Big moose
A little late posting had a lot of stuff to do before we leave for Arizona. Temps here look nice until we leave hate flying in cold weather when there's a chance they have to de-ice the plane. Last time that happened I think my wife had 5 glasses of wine on the plane before we ever took off. Have a wonderful day everyone.
