Morning, spies. It's raining lightly here in Fort Worth, but the rain is not dampening my spirits. I have my first lesson this evening, and I am really excited to begin my quest to get my iron play to an acceptable level. Gaining more than 2 strokes off the tee (to a 10 hcp) but losing far more than that with my crappy iron play.

Edit: well, unfortunately the rain dampened the range enough that we had to re-schedule to tomorrow. Still excited, now just have to experience some delayed gratification.

Good morning and happy Friday Eve, Spies!!

Nippy and windy morning here at the moment. Luckily no rain expected today, and the high in the mid 60's. I think Spring might actually be here, for the most part. High of 49 on Sunday, but then back into the mid 60's.

Going to start knocking off the rust this afternoon with my first lesson of the season. I have 3 scheduled over the next 7 weeks to help get me rolling for when I start actually playing again, likely in April. Plus, I need to get closer to dialed for upcoming fittings which I haven't done for a few years. Demo Day on 4/17, then another on 5/4 to help figure out what irons/woods/wedges to focus my fittings on.

Not a lot moving in the laundry room. Dad prepped the gap for drywall that he's getting tomorrow and will start working on that day. 2 coats of mud/tape with some sanding and then we can start fitting the back wall cabinets before cutting the baseboards to install them. It'll take longer than I'd prefer, but we'll get there.

Good morning spies!

Today is looking quite gorgeous outside compared to the drab day that it was yesterday. Ping is coming through MGS which is awesome, I have been following their releases closely and I can't wait to hear about the S159's. I have a pair tutoring session tonight, it is the final week of this session of class (each course is 5 weeks) so I actually expected more sign ups. They are studying a very beginner Py lang however, so it should be easy enough.

Good morning all!

Super exciting to see the Ping wedges announcement this morning. I've always thought Ping wedges were super underrated and it's very special to have the designer on the call later today!

Should be able to join after missing last week. Hoping to potentially sneak out to the simulator after work this evening as well. You can only swing a club slow motion in the apartment so many times!

Excited to watch some of the AP Invitational as well! Feeling pretty good about my picks this week so hopefully they deliver.

Good Thursday morning.  Last duty day for the week. But massive rain forecasted all weekend.  

For those with sick kids, may they turn their illnesses around quickly and feel better.

For those with infirmed fur babies, may they also get feeling well and some comfort too.

Both the Testing announcement and the CC guest news this morning has me giddy!

I can't tell you how cool and informative it is for me to hear and see things first hand

 I'm a visual learner and absorb things much quicker through watching and doing. 

With 200+ Testing opportunities projected this year, this is insane how fast they are coming up almost every week!!!

Hats off to you , the MGS teams, as I'm sure your tasking is no small feat!

Good morning from mid-Michigan, y’all!   Heading out again today for another 9 holes — my sixth time out since the course  opened on March 1st!  Earliest opening I can remember in several years.  Still too damp for mowing but tee markers and flags in place, and my carry bag with half-set of clubs is ready to go again!

Good morning spies! Getting ready for the second day of the men's club championship. The snowbirds begin to flock north in earnest in 2 weeks or so and that is why we have the championship this time of year. 

Regardless I am going to play for accuracy today, mostly to satisfy my own need to see that I can do that on a pressure round. Distance is great, but I proved on yesterdays round that hitting a tree top off of the tee on a fairly long par 5 is of no consequence. Two good shots later and I am 40 yards from the pin. And it is here where the game is won or lost. A decent dead hand pitch and a 6 foot down hill put and I walked off with a par. 

The accuracy of the 3 shots behind my tee shot is what saved the par. So accuracy is my mantra for the day.

Good morning Spies! This week's road trip ends this afternoon. Bright and sunny after a bunch of rain, but I don't think I can work in any golf.

Meanwhile, a golfing tradition which I have taken advantage of has ended: You can't camp out all night to get a tee time on the Old Course at St. Andrews any more. They now have a lottery for people who sign up during regular business hours the day before you want to play, and they take a photo to make sure that's who shows up for the next day's tee time if chosen. Winners are notified via text.  Would have been nice to go that route and get some sleep before stepping onto the first tee, but by golly, staying up all night was worth it. Even if I then hacked it around the most famous course in golf.

Good morning fellow MGS'ers! Starting off this Thursday with a BANG on the PING S159 wedge test announcement and carrying the momentum to the community call with Jacob Clarke of PING this afternoon. Talk about a couple great back to back weeks with having Andy Nalla from Ghost Golf last week on the call and now Jacob this week. Should be a fantastic call and one you do not want to miss!

Today and tomorrow left for the work week and then I am off for 9 consecutive days as we fly to Mexico Monday morning this coming week. Should be a great time and have to remind myself that things will go smoothly with the kids and grandparents getting them to/from school and everything in between. After all, my wife and I made it to parenthood, so they clearly know what they are doing .

Will be mostly MIA next week. Not to say I don't enjoy my interactions with you all, but I'll enjoy my time on a beach with SWMBO and drinks in my hand more

PING TEST??? That’s super exciting and I hope to join the call later today to hear more about the s159’s. I fancy myself a bit of a wedge nerd so I’m definitely looking forward to this test for the forum. 
Yesterday, I decided to walk the course and play the front tees to see what I could shoot and I had a really great time and it was a fun exercise in figuring out what club to hit off the tee with new angles and distances in play. I managed to shoot a 71 (+1) including a double bogey on a par 4 where I hit 4i long OB then had to re tee with 6 iron and chip on. Going to try this again next week and see if I can get under par!

Celebrated my birthday yesterday. My wife got me a shotscope V3 and she even booked a round for Saturday so I can try it out!

I’ve been trying a blade style putter and it just hasn’t been working for me. I have some money burning a hole in my pocket so I might need to head to PGASS and see if they have anything interesting in the used section.

A Ping test… and wedges none-the-less!!  Nice!

However, I’m a little torn about applying.  Why would I test them when my wedges are one of the better parts of my game?   I love my Callaway PM Grind 54 and 60, but they aren’t made anymore and mine are 4 years old.  I was thinking about what the replacements would be… still thinking!!

Good Morning everyone!!  Not feeling very well today.  After a light workout and some short game work yesterday, my usual low back pain seems to have spread to my entire back.  Extra stretches on the agenda today.

My wife played in the Ladies League opening scramble yesterday after the 1.5 hour frost delay.  Her team started on the par 3 #12 hole; here’s her tee shot...

Starting with a birdie always helps, and her team ended up winning Gross ($240) with a score of 70 (-2) and Net (60).

Good morning Spies! Got to play the Disney Palm course this morning. It was a beautiful course and didn’t play my best at all but it was still a great time. Getting the excuses of rental clubs with a mix of regular and stiff and not knowing the course at all out of the way… I shot low 90s but had some really great drives including just missing the green on a drivable par 4. No one in my group realized until we go to the next tee box that there was a gator about 15 feet in some bushes behind me. Some pics of the first tee box looking out to the fairway, my drive on the 13th, and said gator and a raccoon that tried to ransack my dad and his buddies cart after we got drinks on the 10th.

Good (Late) Morning,

Teaching a class all day, lots of "fun" with 4.5 hours of sleep LOL. We got through it of course, but a little tired. Got stuck at the business last night, cleaning up the latest update for Trackman. It works fine, just had a weird anomaly with the taskbar icon (which is of course the one we normally use to launch TPS) not updating after this last software update, a 30 (maybe) minute update turned into a couple hours. Spent a bit of time doing repeat installations, with it showing up as the old version every time I started it... till I finally clicked on the desktop icon and saw it actually DID update to the new version. Problem is I had to go in and manually fix each member's icon so they would have the updated version. Took a "minute" to do that. Got some cool new features though.
