Another wet one but should finally be clearing out mid-morning. Hopefully it will dry out nicely tomorrow and I can get a little range time in before Sunday's main event! After yesterday, I definitely will begin the search for new rainwear...

Good morning spies!

Woke up to the beautiful sunshine and decided I am going to hit the range. 9-hole tee time tomorrow and my first lesson Sunday morning. I am so ready! Besides that, taking the Vokeys I purchased along with my PW to get a nice regripping (fiancé likes the Lamkin Sonars) so that is what I will be adding on. Could be convinced at the PGA SS to purchase something since she is staying home and I'll have 20-30 minutes to kill while I wait .

Beyond that, it's Friday folks!

good - no, GREAT - morning all.

one of my fav times of the year.... everything is awakening. the birds are back to singing in the morning, flowers are starting to come up, grass is getting green, the feeling of the sun on your skin, days getting longer, neighborhood coming back to life...

Enjoy the weekend and don't forget to spring forward on Sunday!

I truly think there is nothing finer than a spring morning when as you said the birds are busy doing there thing and a little steam comes off the ground as the dirt is beginning to retain some heat and the smell of the air?? What is that? Not sure but I love it as some kind of reminder that we've made it thru another one and up near my home the ice is breaking up on the lake also singing a crazy song that cannot be described but all these thing put together equal =  GOLF!!!!!!

Kids are feeling better, which is a great relief as it would be really hard to leave for our trip if they were sick and not feeling well. We will head down to Milwaukee Sunday late afternoon/early evening and then fly out of the airport there at 6:15 am for Mexico! I really like the MKE airport as it is smaller by a large margin than O'Hare in Chicago and just less hustle and bustle. Direct flight as well which is fantastic. I have been holding off on watching Oppenheimer for the flight, so my in air entertainment is set as well. 

We will be in Cancun Monday - Saturday, flying out mid morning that day and getting back to Wisconsin mid afternoon. Weather looks FANTASTIC currently as well, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Back home weather will be nice, too, which will be good for the grandparents with being able to do things outdoors with the boys while we are gone after school.

TGIF Spies!!

Anther beautiful day. Well it's overcast and getting a little cooler, but it's great to vertical.

So I'm thinking this evening will be all about Full Swing, season 2. I want to get through it before my various feeds get too filled up with reactions and stuff. I enjoyed season 1, so I'm going in with higher expectations than before. Hopefully they deliver.

Had a great lesson yesterday (sadly missed the community call though). Working on that hip rotation with a couple drills that are helping. My wrist is far flatter now that it was at the end of last season. I was focused on that during the lesson as it's been another main problem. We did notice that as I begin my downswing, I do start to let the club head get ahead of my hands too much which then seems to cause the flip at impact. After some drill work, I did see a slight forward shaft lean. Not a lot, but anything is better than nothing at this point. It's progress. Plus my AoA is finally getting in the -3 and lower range. Still fluctuates from 0 and down, but I'm seeing more of the - numbers than before. I actually saw a 140yd carry with a 71mph 1/2 swing with my 8 iron with the better technique. So I know a lot more is possible with my swing once we sort this out. For reference, I've been playing my full swing 8 iron at 135yds.

Good days ahead if I make these improvements.

Good morning all from a sunny but chilly camp verde az. Rained yesterday for the first time since we have been here, they even had snow north of us. Supposed to be in the lower 60s today and close to 70 next week. Playing prescott Country club next Wednesday should be in nicer shape than quailwood greens. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Supposed to be great golf weather Saturday-Wednesday but you’d never know it looking ant the howling winds and snow currently falling. I’ll never truly understand Midwest weather. Normally this would bum me out but in 4 hours I’m getting fitted by the Cobra DarkSpeed driver. Pics coming soon!

Jason, tell your friend, I've consulted with Dr's Napa and Valley and they strongly recommend the following if wine just won't do it:

Preferably in a sunny, warm environment with sand and beach.  To help your friend, they said more than one may be necessary.  Hope that helps your friend.

This was pre-planned fortunately but the course has changed as to what I am going to be doing down there now lol. Only 4 days down there and do not anticipate I will be going back anytime soon with the news that came this week, I was originally going down for cross-training counterparts which is still going to take place but at a much higher level now.

Good (late) morning all!

The weather has been rainy and cloudy last couple of days. Today is overcast but 55. Glad it is Friday. In the process of being conscripted into management within my company. Trying to work out the details for a soft launch next week. Should be interesting. Will be a lot of work initially. Hoping it isn’t overwhelming as I have priorities on the golf course this year

Took the dog out and realized due to the mild winter, we are being overrun (already) with rabbits. That would explain the increasing sound of late night coyotes in the area. Gonna have to get the trusty old bolt action .22 involved again. She is pretty silent with a 5.56 can attached.

Saw this in the yard too…..

I am convinced the only two things left after the apocalypse will be cockroaches and dandelions. 

In any case, have yourselves a wonderful weekend and get out there if you can!

Technically past morning time here, but it's 7 am somewhere. Hope everyone has a great day!

I broke down and decided 7 years was long enough and it was time for new irons. I made a fitting appointment and went in expecting to be placed in some players distance irons. Well that didn't happen... 

We pulled out the Mizuno Pro 245. First swing pulled a little left with a 10 yard  draw... 177 carry. My head almost exploded. How on earth???? Now granted I was leaning into these swings but my 7 iron carry is usually between 160-165. I got one out to carry 182 after a half dozen swings. The downside is that I was launching them a little too low and the spin was way too low. Long story short, we tried a few different heads and shafts, but what ended up producing the best launch and spin numbers were the 241 blades. On top of that, we dropped the lie angle to 2° flat and low and behold the pull hooks disappeared. My right misses were a bit more right, but my left misses were so much tighter than before. 

It goes to show just how important getting fit for your clubs is. If I'd just bought clubs straight off the rack there's no telling how many strokes I'd be costing myself for no other reason than having gear that doesn't suit my golf game.

Bottom of the pot spies!   Our company left zero dark early this morning and I had to scoot over for my 0815 tee time.  We had a great visit and already looking forward to the next get-together .  We attended the Mecum Auto Auction in Glendale, AZ yesterday and, of all the great looking inventory, this one grabbed my top spot.  It's an "Eleanor" reproduction and I just love the way it looks. It is scheduled to go across the stage today and I will be interested seeing what it sells for.

It still has yet to go on stage today but thus far it looks like they do not post the winning bid information on-line .  Unlike when we attended Barrett Jackson a few years ago, the cars that had already been auctioned and brought back out to the viewing tent areas, also did not have sell price.  Barrett Jackson cars did and we had fun walking up and guessing what they went for before seeing the sticker.

Here are more photos of this car.  I'm guessing it sells between $180-200K because it's not the 67 model year and not a "certified/licensed" Eleanor.  Quite an interesting background story on that if you read article in my post/link above.

It’s funny, I grew up hating these cars. Now I realize it’s mainly because they were covered in rust or bondo.

This is what the squirrels on our golf course do when they see my wife coming with peanuts.  We buy the salted peanuts in the big Costco bag.  Just seasoning the meat for the hawks.    After all… we are an International Audubon Society golf course.
