In all seriousness, with the weather we’re supposed to get here, I would be looking to cancel any tee time.

I’ve been monitoring the weather and radar and it seems 50/50 for Williamsburg.  I am thinking if I go it will rain and if I skip it will not rain much.

Good morning Spies!

Presidents Cup got off to a fun start yesterday, with USA pulling off the early sweep in day 1. Was cool to see Scottie and Tom Kim banter back and forth, as well as Keegan making some long putts and showing his American pride. Excited to watch day 2 and some hopefully closer competition.

New TSR2 driver head arrived yesterday, but unfortunately my buddy forgot to include the Titleist adapter in the box. PGA Tour Superstore was all out, so I have to wait until he sends me one to put it into play. I can't complain much, since he sent it to me for nothing. Just have to be a little more patient until next week.

Met up with a friend from grad school last night for dinner. He's in town for the Notre Dame game, which we'll also be attending tomorrow. Will be grabbing dinner with him and some other friends this evening as well. Hoping for a pretty day Friday otherwise.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I was playing yesterday then headed to an appointment right after so I only was able to watch the last hour to 90 minutes of the Presidents Cup, if anyone that watched that coverage doesn't realize the importance of putting then a discussion needs to take place, the americans made the putts the internationals did not...

Was invited to play in a scramble this afternoon at a local country club.  Trying to decide if I am going; supposed to start raining when the golf starts and winds are supposed to be 20+.   A drizzle wouldn’t be horrible, but don’t want to play in rain.  Yes, @TJ Hall I am soft 😂.

scrambles can be fun and you I can get some good takeaways at times as my swing is a bit looser so to speak, weather sucks though,  1 element I can usually get through but 2 (wind and rain) I am not a big fan of..

While you're not wrong about putting being important, it wasn't the biggest difference maker yesterday... USA was +8.9 strokes T2G compared to +3.99 putting.

Morning All,

With wind picking up gradually, then getting a notification that our area is under a tornado watch, there was no range time this morning. I spent it bringing the stuff in that could blow away. But if we are being honest, it wouldn’t be my first rodeo with a tornado. If the guys here in Virginia remembers the tornado that hit back in 2008 in the Hampton roads area, I was on watch as the topside rover and watched that tornado come across the water and hit our ship. It was considerably a lot weaker than what it could have been had it not hit the water. That was fun. Hope everyone in Florida that was impacted by the hurricane is safe and has minimal damage. Hope everyone has the best day they can.

I was hoping someone would take the bait... yeah, great, shot link is fantastic, boring but fantastic, stats are fantastic, boring but fantastic, but unless you have walked a mile in a highly competitive team event or any event for that matter, momentum and specific energy can outweigh statistics every time.

Which is why David Duval and Paul McGinley look at Brandell Chamblee like he has 2 heads and 4 eyes with all the statistics he is getting fed into his ear piece... You get to a point in the conversation when David Duval turns to Brandell and says "how many Ryder Cups and President Cups have you played on?"

The tide would have changed, no question in my mind, if a few of those lip outs had rolled in and if a few of those basic 8 footers had of dropped for the International team.

I'm not "taking the bait," you quoted my original post. I understand you're passionate being from B.C., but this wasn't meant to provoke you. Yes, if the international team made more putts, they would've won some matches. But you can't disregard stats entirely, regardless of your point of view.

Momentum is indeed a big factor and I wish the international team the best of luck in their efforts today.

Presidents Cup needs a massive overhaul. I think that's the biggest takeaway.

It's over after day 1 and the what ifs aren't going to make it anymore compelling to watch over the next few days.

That would be something right there! I mean I tune in throughout the event off and on but that would keep my interest a bit more. In the foursomes matches that could bring in some cool strategy and shot making decisions! Good call

I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

Just got great news. Cop in Beaverton Oregon wrote me a “Careless Driving” ticket. Lawyer just sent me an email; Case Dismissed!

This was with a tough judge who doesn’t like truck drivers.
I could get detailed. Basically the carelessness was much greater with the city. I still claimed responsibility. I drive hazmat. No excuses. My driving record remains clean.

To be candid.... I would rather walk a field with a good Bird Dog, than to walk a golf course with people. Only problem is, I can't walk.

Good morning Spies! It seems mother nature is not letting summers relentless heat fade into fall yet. Temps here in the Mesa area for the next five or six days will top 110.

... We will continue to set new heat records for the next 3 days. Or more. Yea, it's stoopid hot 🥵  for late September but the truth is we knew we would be dealing with intense heat when we moved here. It is a little unpleasant and uncomfortable but not even a blip one the radar compared to all those in Hurricane Helene's path. We don't lose power, have tree or worse, home damage and when the heat drops below 100* we have instant relief. Many will be feeling the effects of Helene for quite some time. My most positive vibes are with those suffering from the hurricane and the aftermath.

LOL. This homebrew competition is beer and cider and mead. Nothing distilled.

It is the same around here or I should say Eastern NC. Oh I know the difference between Moonshine and Home Brew. The old timers in Eastern NC used to make Home Brew and it had a lot more kick than regular store-bought beer. My Grandpa said the guys learned it during prohibition and passed it down. The stuff I drank down there was as smooth as a mother's love and kicked like Gus the mule. Apple Jack was my favorite. Never saw or heard of anyone down there making moonshine but you go West about 60 miles and Johnston County was the self proclaimed Moonshine Capital of the world. That is very debatable

Good Morning MGS!

It's Friday kids dropped at school, I'm on cup 2 of coffee for the day looking at probably 1 more around 1030 as a former Boatswains mate it's like drinking water for us. Going to get rained on at the football game tonight so at least I'm prepared for it. Talked to the course about tee time on Sunday and with all the rain we've had they're not optimistic. Might be a range practice weekend which isn't terrible but not what I wanted to hear. Football tomorrow but spread out a bit so there is time to breathe in between games for a change. Oh finding out that PXG has plans to bring a mini driver to market soon via the call yesterday was pretty sweet! I will definitely be looking at that with some heavy interest when it makes it's appearance.

@BIG STU That is cool that the JG was into it as I'm sure that made it a much better process for you and that other guy. That Lt Commander sounded like one of the officers that everyone had respect for. I met a few of them in my time in and I definitely appreciated them and their leadership style. A lot of the JO's I met we just called robots but 2 from my time on the CGC Harriet LAne stand out both were JG's and if you screwed up you knew it but they would also ensure that you understood that it was a work issue not personal issue. I got out as a BM2 (yep it's okay to laugh at that) and tried while in and today to model that leadership style.

My first Division Officer was a JG. Great guy. When I first came out of A school and making E-4 he noticed on my records I had not finished High School. He sent me right back off to go to Norfolk and get my GED. I passed all the tests first time I took them and got my diploma. He was not surprised he said he had my records on A school and figured I could get my GED in record time. Then he sent me off to damage control and advanced Firefighting school which was great. There you had instructors and students from all branches of service. I learned quite a bit about aircraft fires from the AF guys.

That led to me being the Damage Control Petty Officer of my section which was what he wanted the first time. While doing that they found out I could work on Diesel Engines on the fire pumps. That led to me being what they called at the time cross rated. I was a Boiler Technician/ Engineman 3rd class.

Good morning & Happy Friday!
Luckily we  missed Hurricane Helene in this part of FL, some rain and windy but no real damage.  We went out early this morning and helped neighbors pickup palm fronds which are everywhere.
Our Tee Time for 7:20 this morning was obviously cancelled yesterday.  They won’t let any tour until courses are cleared and deemed safe.  I suspect most court will be opening around noon, crews have been busy since very early this morning.  Haven’t heard too much about “Big Bend” in FL hope everyone stayed safe.  Georgia & NC are getting it now, my SIL is without power in Columbia SC.

Everyone please stay safe!

Yep it hit the upstate and midlands a lot harder than it hit us on the coast. Now inland of us like 10 miles away it also hit hard. I live about a mile off the ocean as the crow flies. On our end of the beach we did get some storm surge damage as usual right at the beach. We did have winds and little rain here. I had like 2 tree limbs down and that was it. Now the sun is out and as usual after a storm humid as heck

I remember a few years back Brandell and Duval got into it about something and was close to blows. Poor old Frank Nobilo was in between them and looked like he was looking somewhere under the desk to hide.

Brandall is jealous over Duval because Duval had a better career on the regular tour. Duval also qualified for the Champions Tour and Brandal could not make it through Q school on that.

Yeah I love it. Brandell has his line of BS with no credibility in my eyes and Duval has the balls to call him out on it and back it up
