I decided to try a different shaft in my Epic Max after playing it for a few years. The shaft I wanted cost more than a nearly new Epic Max LS with that shaft in it... so it arrived yesterday. Late in the afternoon I tried it out plus new shaft in Epic Max head and old shaft in Epic Max LS head. This weekend I'm going with old shaft in Epic Max LS head. Good Morning everyone!! Another cold, beautiful sunny day... 41º when I got up. I have to finish pruning shrubs today, but maybe I'll get another run at my two drivers this afternoon! Have a lovely day, or as lovely as it can be on Friday the 13th. Stay safe! Anyway I am going to put new grips on my Takomo MB 301 irons and my buddy mentioned he uses carpet tape to grip his clubs Has anyone tried that? I see the tape online but am unsure of what releases the glue to be able to slide the grip on, water or solvent? @chisag I think you mentioned you did some club work in the past. Thanks and have a great day everyone. ... I am pretty traditional with grip installs. Tried water activate tape and it dint work for me. I have also had a few bad tape rolls over the years and there's nothing worse than a grip that slides a little. So what the hell do I do to entertain myself over the long darkness to come? Ive never been more obsessed with the sport than I have been lately. Shocking for just being a bogey golfer which to my midhigh handicap ass feels like im on the damn tour. My todo list over the winter I guess will be to try and get some sim time to really suss out some driver data. I never got fitted and Im to the point I think I could actually benefit from it. Seriously.... I get its hard to be consistent but having a driving distance from 200yds to 265yds.... somethings rotten in Denmark. So I think the next iteration of my game will be optimizing driver. I have no actual data on how I swing it. spin rates / aoa / launch angle etc. My irons im fine with so dont need any info there. those of you who have done so... howd that work out? any tips? I did a driver fitting back in the Fall of 2021 and it was absolutely eye opening for me. I was gaming a Taylormade SLDR at the time, which unbeknownst to me were notoriously unforgiving on mishits, but absolute rockets when you caught the middle. This was extremely evident for me on the course. What was eye opening was the fact that I was spinning that driver as high as 4500 rpms...massive distance loss and giant slices on bad strikes. Was fit into a Titleist TSi3 and it brought my spin down under 3000 rpms on less than ideal strikes and mid to low 2000s on good strikes. With my Cobra fitting for the challenge this year, I would say it started as more of a lateral move from the TSi, but with the Aerojet Max as of just recently, I've been able to hit a draw shape with it. With the Max being a draw biased head, and a bit more forgiving than the TSi, it's made a big difference in my confidence off the tee. Being able to hit outdoors is really nice as you can see ball flight, but of course harder to do in cooler climates. That said, if you can find a fitter that has a garage like fitting bay where you are sheltered from outdoor elements but hitting into open air, I'd highly recommend that. Driver fittings indoors aren't the worst thing because you don't have to worry about turf interaction, but seeing the ball flight is still a benefit IMO. Other tip I'd say is to go into it with a 100% open mind on head types, shaft weight/flexes, etc. Good fitters will work with your swing to help find the best combination. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Byrnzee
Good morning spies! It's a windy and rainy morning in Chicago. My fiancée and I are headed to South Bend for the Notre Dame vs. USC game. Our initial plan was to attend the game, but with high temps in the 40s tonight with wind and rain, we decided to opt out. It will still be a fun day on campus as we're meeting up with some friends who are in town. Since we're not going into the stadium, we're also able to bring our dog out there for the day as opposed to getting a sitter. I hope that everyone golfing today hits 'em straight and that everyone else has a great Saturday! ejgaudette, cksurfdude, EasyPutter and 6 others 9 Quote Current WITB: Bag: MV2 Golf Bag Driver: G425 Max 9.0º,Ventus Blue Velocore 6S Fairway: TSR2 3 wood 15º,Ventus Red Velocore 7S Driving Iron: U505 2-iron, Graphite Design Tour AD DI-85S Irons: MP-54 (4-P), Project X 6.0S Wedges: 50.09 SB, 54.11 SB, 58.11 SB Putter: Ai-ONE Jailbird Mini DB 35" Ball: Tour X

Monster bucks obviously help, too , but there’s no such thing as a bad day in the woods regardless of seeing anything or not. You ain't kidding, the times I've seen good bucks in the woods have been some of the most memorable. I never was able to bag one bow hunting, but I remember the adrenaline rush. It's fun seeing what all comes around while sitting in a stand. I saw foxes, bobcat, coyote, raccoons, turkey, and lots of squirrel. cksurfdude, GolfSpy_KFT and GolfSpy_BEN
Popular Post cksurfdude
Happy Saturday!! Was informed I'll be drinking beer at 12:30 - step daughter and her boyfriend coming for a short visit .. it's his birthday so we're heading out to our local brewery before they have to go to another birthday party. So I guess I'd better get a little exercise in beforehand! ... sheesh the things I have to do to keep my marriage going and my honey happy..... Hope you have some fun today, too!!! Preeway
Good morning everyone. Up early to get to Arbor Links for another loop to start my day. But chilly start to the mornjng but the misty rain has stopped. Prepared for some wet and numb feet by the time I get to 18 but being on the course in any capacity is a good time. Hope everyone has an equally great day ahead. Dead Solid Bogey
Saturday… a frantic friendly day of family, fun, or in my case… fleeing!! Yesterday, the round, sans the wedges was semi-successful. Still need to pull the trigger on new wedges. Hoping that sooner than later the Edison testing gets to a point for a comparison with the Indie’s. A lot of buzz in my area about the solar eclipse today. Evidently somehow it has gotten back to the “ Yielder of Awesome “ that I “might” have stated that a solar eclipse is like what happens when the SHE being enters a room. While legally I have plausible deniability, the leader of the pack was not interested in any possible defense on my past. Thus, my current activity of having fled for the day to a neighboring town’s golf course. Met a young father and son leaving the practice tee having a father /son discussion…… Enjoy your Saturday….. Remember my honored friends, all we can do is make the best of what we can…...Speaking of cans….
