It is definitely something, just hope it is nothing serious.   First visit with my PCP, he ran a bunch of tests (all negative) then sent to to the ER for more tests where I spent 8 hours to get all negative results, then he had me do a stress test which didn’t indicate anything.  I am guessing that Pulmonologist will be my next stop.

Good morning all! Back to work today after a week off and to my surprise I wasn’t THAT far behind on getting caught up! It is also my wife’s birthday, which we celebrated the two of us last night with dinner at Ishnala Supper Club in Wisconsin Dells. It is one of the best supper clubs in the state and has the best old fashioneds (outside of the ones I make ) that I’ve ever had. Dinner was excellent as usual and I believe we will go out tonight with the boys and my in-laws to the local Mexican restaurant. I am also going to surprise her with a homemade cheesecake that I’m going to try cooking in our Instant Pot. I’ve never made a cheesecake before so wish me luck!

I also passed along your birthday wishes to her and she told me to tell everyone thank you!

This is the part of the airbase where we were, and I think you’re right. I understood that events occur there from time to time, so you never know. I might keep an eye on it to see what it’s used for.

I’m a museum dude, so in the Golden Gate Park there’s the DeYoung for art and the California Academy of Sciences, which is great for kids.

And of course, Oracle Park for a Giant’s game. 

If you have a car, then definitely the Golden Gate Bridge and Mt. Tamalpais just north of the bridge.

had a mini family reunion on my wife's side of the family this weekend and her Aunt and Uncle moved to Naples a couple years ago.

He knows I'm into golf and told me that they live on the Tiburon course and even though he doesn't play we're welcome to come down and stay with them and he'll be sure to get me out on the course with some of his buddies.

I took a look at the course this morning and  !!!  That place looks amazing. Checking flights in October now....

Definitely visit and play.  Played there many years ago and from what I remember it was in great shape.

Back in my early autocross racing days, there was an annual event at Pangborn Airfield near Wenatchee, WA.  Unlike most all autocross events, this one started with a 90º left turn and 1/4mile run down the runway to a 180º turn, then slaloms.  The four fastest cars entering the 180º turn were a 454 Corvette, a Devin body Corvair, a AC Cobra 289, and interestingly a Mazda RX2 4-door sedan with extensive rotary engine work.... none were mine!

Scoma’s in Sausalito was the restaurant of choice for my senior prom. We then attended the prom at the Embarcadero Hyatt Regency. The lobby was used as the the lobby in The Towering Inferno.

Same with my old pooch. We used to go for really, really long walks when he was a pup (and I was a few years younger too! ) .. now it's 10 minutes s-l-o-w-l-y, sometimes 15-20 if it's a little cooler.....

 

Riley will walk 2 to 3 miles so we are between 1.5 to 2 hours. I pack water for him.

MG for Morris Garage started in 1930 with the classic doghouse "bonnet" for the engine, separate headlights on a frame and open wheels with flowing fenders.

These are all the smallest sports cars made, perfect size for 2 seats, a motor under the bonnet, 4 tires (tyres) and a boot just large enough for a picnic basket and blanket.  Perfect for touring the English countryside.

While in San Francisco and you are exploring the North Beach area I can recommend the Original Joes for Italian food. My dad grew up in North Beach which is the Italian neighborhood in the City. And if you are in the area early the focaccia at Liguria Bakery is the BEST. They remain open until they sell out. I grew up on their focaccia. My last time there I got a slab of the plain for lunch. The House of Prime Rib on Van Ness Avenue is another SF favorite. Across the street from Aquatic Park is a bar called the Buena Vista which is famous for their Irish Coffee. It’s right near Ghirardelli Square. Oh and the absolute best view of the Golden Gate Bridge is from Lincoln Park Golf Course. The Legion of Honor art museum is there as well and they have Rodin’s Thinker in the court yard. 
If you explore the Presidio of San Francisco there is a Disney museum there now in what was my barracks when I was stationed there. Lucas Films has an office there now as well. The Golden Gate Bridge makes land on the SF side on the Presidio. Under the south end of the bridge is Ft. Point National Historic Site. It was active starting with the gold rush up until WWII.

I feel your pain, I hurt my shoulder two weeks ago and had to get a cortisone shot. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks!! Really hoping it's just overused muscles that need a break, and not that nasty rotator cuff nonsense! (..already have enough other bad joints sheesh )

It’s just a number unless we make it otherwise.  18 would be a houseful +.  Sounds like you had a good dad that left all too early.

He passed in 1996 at 65. Way too early.  I had terrific parents. Great senses of humors and loved all 6 of their daughters!  I'd like to think I got their sense of humor.  Lots of great memories.

It was a houseful  - 6 daughters - 6 sons-in-laws - 18 grandchildren - 1 great-granddaughter before he passed away. Had to add on to the dining room so we could mostly fit!

SF is such a great tourist city—Coit Tower and Diego Rivera’s murals, Kaffe Trieste where Coppola wrote “The Godfather”, City Lights Bookstore of the beat poet era, Mission Dolores, Land’s End.

It’s a hard to miss out on great Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Thai, and Mexican food …

Morn all! Just reminiscing about my days in San Fran over coffee. There was a time when taking a cable car was part of my daily commute to work, and at times I’d swear I was in one of those films from the 50s or 70s.

Anyway, after a quick thunderstorm last night the sun is out. We’re heading into Copenhagen later today to stroll around, and since I’m in a tourist mood, maybe I’ll snap off a few pics.
