A buddy of mine used to bee the Superintendent at Club Crested Butte- I got to play there a few times- it's GORGEOUS- I love that area. They used to have the National Disabled Vets Winter Sport Clinic up there before it moved to Snowmass

GM Y'all !!!!! It was a whirlwind weekend- actually got some practice in and a round- didn't do as well as I hoped, but at least I was out playing. Yesterday saw the smoker getting loaded and a LOT of projects around the house. Hope y'all have an incredible day and somehow or another, golf is involved.

BTW- The bacon wrapped drumsticks are called lollipops at the house- They're REALLY good. The full list is Brisket, Pork butt, 2 pork loins, 6 country style ribs, 4 chicken thighs, 10 lollipops (kinda sounds like the 12 days of Christmas huh?)

THANKS!!!!! They taste REALLY GOOD too!!!!!!!! not for the faint of heart (or ANYONE with dietary restrictions )

That sounds amazing. We didn’t get to play that course but we did a Mountain bike ride at Hartman Rocks that over looks that course and it looked beautiful. Thank you for your service!

I also had the opportunity to play the Club at Cordillera in Edwards, and Copper Creek. If you ever make it to the western slope- you GOTTA try Redlands Mesa- it occasionally makes the top 100 public courses in Golf Digest- it's a hidden gem with incredible views. If you can make it off the course without at LEAST 1 three- putt you're doing really well. Thanks and it was my honor

Im heading to Moab for a weekend at the end of the summer. Sounds like I’ll need to bring my clubs and play Redlands on the way!

FWIW- There's 2 other public courses in the Grand Junction area as well. Tiara Rado- kind of a fun course. Snakes its way through a residential area(MOST of them had protective barriers of some sort last time I played it). If you play it- be careful on the 2nd hole(or at least make sure you see if there's anyone in front of you). #10 used to be a lot more fun than it was when I left. 18 will get you thinking you can drive the green- BUT-  if you overshoot it you'll hit the clubhouse.  The other one is Adobe Creek- its an assortment of 3-9 hole tracks. I recommend Mesa and Monument - Desert is kinda boring (IMHO).

If you want a REALLY fun mountain bike ride- try Slickrock Bike Trail

Today is Liam's 5th birthday and this is all he wanted to do today. He got a little hand cart so he could walk with dad.

We also do Texas Twinkies- Jalapenos split(vertically) stuffed with brisket, wrapped in bacon(of course-the world is better with bacon)grilled and then spread either sour cream or cream cheese over the cut area. If Jalapenos are too hot, you can use Anaheims or Poblanos (plus they're a little bit more accommodating for more brisket/bacon- jus sayin)

If you have the time- google #17 at Redlands Mesa- there's a video (about 35 seconds or so- you MIGHT find it interesting)

Thanks for the advice! I love playing new courses, that’s honestly half the fun for me.

It’ll add it to the list for this year. Last year we rode Ahab and the whole enchilada. Hoping to do slick rock and mag 7 this year.

That is so awesome!  It's so great seeing youngsters getting into the game.  I'm sure, like myself, being introduced to and playing with Dad's holds some of lifes best memories.  Tell Liam Happy Birthday from us spies and that the cart looks skookum.  No really, tell him it looks skookum and see how he reacts .

Good morning everyone! I'm just catching up on the forum as I'm sitting here in the car drinking my coffee. I made it through my first day back at work after being off a week. I've got to get my feet used to being on them all the time again. It's not as bad as usual since I kept pretty busy during the week off.

Good morning from a cooler WNY on this Tuesday than the previously trending temps would suggest, with hot coffee in the mug making it just about perfect  yesterday's sky was a salmon color sun and unusual lighting I first noticed at lunchtime with smoke from Canadian wildfires affecting the sky and air quality in these parts, and saw lots of that awesome effect like living on another planet for the rest of the afternoon and evening between Buffalo, Rochester and back home again.  4:40 tee time and hope you have golf in your day too

Good morning all, busy morning ahead for me at work as we are doing a test run for a new process we will be using for our HRA/biometric screening today. It’s one of my main job duties so I am nervous/excited. I also have a student observer coming in today who is one of my former basketball players. Really looking forward to seeing him. Only a half day of work today as my mom is still under the weather so my wife is staying home this morning then I am for the afternoon. Following it up with golf league tonight, should be a good day!
