Happy Friday all!

past few morning we’ve had two visitors driving the dogs crazy:

one big, and one medium sized Fischer cats. I’ve heard them before but had never seen one.  The dogs are now on neighborhood watch!

Funny My big customers are in Lenexa and Overland Park. I'm there several times a year. You know, for business with clubs of course!

morning all

Last night my wife said we were going food shopping as soon as I'm done with work at noon. I said sorry honey, I'm golfing as soon as I'm off work. Mother Nature is cruel. It's raining. Now I'll just be pushing a different type of cart. 

On a positive note. My reel mower showed up yesterday. I got the golf green area down to 1/2" without modifying the mower yet. So, it's time for sand leveling. I haven't found someone that will deliver a yard yet. I planned on talking to the golf course today but doesn't look like that's going to happen.

GM everyone!  Finished prepping the garden yesterday.  I had a visitor that "helped".

I've seen this cat out the window this winter; never seen him before this year.  Very friendly.  Maybe he was happy that I fixing his litter box!  Finished just in time because it rained last night; woke up to 37º instead of 27º.  I see some 60º+ days ahead!!

GM fine folks---- Well it is raining and raw here this AM. I did get out and run 2 errands. Paid our car insurance and I went by Kroger to get my 2 week supply of Grizzly dip. Of course back at the house since I am on here coffee in hand and a light load in the woodstove to knock the wet chill off. It is supposed to clear out this afternoon and it should be a green light for tomorrow. Even though it is rainy and raw it is a darn sight better for me than yesterday

My wife worked Wednesday night stocking shelves at Wally World. As SOP for her she shops there and Kroger when she gets off work. One of my shootout partners had called and he had me some firewood. He is a general contractor and gets plenty of wood and he gives us firewood. He has a big splitter and he and his sons split wood for the fun of it and exercise. His trucks were out do he would have delivered. I told him I would be there when the wife gets home with the van. He is right around the corner from me. We use the van as a pick up and I have air suspension on it from a Handicapped Van. Anyhow his oldest and I loaded about 1/2 a cord. Got to the house and carried it in. Must have been too much for me got the back acting up. I ended up in the chair with the heat and vibrate on plus did 1/2 a gummie and did 2 hits on the old Peace Pipe. I was ok and slept most of the afternoon. I did get up around 4 or so and felt good but did not push the issue as far as hitting balls etc. I am ok this morning no pain or stiffness. One thing I did not do was put my back brace on which was my fault.

My last duty station before retirement was Fort Leavenworth as a curriculum author for Army education and happens to be where I learned to golf at Trails West GC on the Fort.  There was definitely some exciting weather at times, but we were Army and once everyone knew that everyone was prepared with sirens blaring everywhere, we watched spinning clouds pass overhead and being downwind of the "Tonganoxie Split" we were curious to see if there was any truth to the legend that tornadoes go north or south but not through (until one did in 2000).

I was, however, able to capture this photo of a torn ADO in the parking lot one afternoon.

No kidding - my wife, who's been an elementary school teacher for closing in on 30 years (and, yes .. she's 39 and don't question my math ) is a volunteer coach for an after school "Girls On The Run" program.

Really great program for young/pre-teen girls but each year the national org dictates more and more compliance, and related, training for the vols .. despite my wife's experience along with her 10th (!!!) season with the program....

Yeah- I had a surgery at the Leavenworth VA Medical hobby shop- (In all sincerity- they did a GREAT job). NICE sign
