Our lawn is not large enough to justify a riding mower, but fortunately I have a wife that LIKES to mow... what luck!!    p.s.  I still help out though.

Even so, and even with a good dog, it can still take up to a year for them to adjust to your house, activity level, schedule, etc.

My friend has a 13 year old Welsch Terrier and welcomed his 1st child 2 years ago. That breed of dog is bred for hunting little critters, so my friend was rightly concerned about how the dog would react to the new squirming 7lb amoeba in the next room. It wasn't a great scenario: had to keep them in separate corners of the house with multiple gates in between. Nobody really knew whether the dog wanted to say "hi" or commit murder.

I'm happy to report that once the baby started walking the dog recognized him as a family member and not a chew toy. Now the old grumpy dog and the devilish 2 year old live in relative harmony.

They are expecting child #2 in April/May now and the prospect of doing the routine again has them asking me if I want a 13 year old Welsch Terrier every time I go over there. I love that dog, but no...no I don't want a 13 year old dog that eats babies.

Yeah - we thought we did all the right things. We did a lot of investigating into the breed, our neighbor had an Airedale and he was a gentle soul, also bought our Airedale as a young puppy so there were no issues from past owners. He seemed fine until we brought home our youngest from the hospital. Guess he didn't like having as baby in the house.

Well this past weekend she snipped and dew blood on our youngest who was close as the dog was trying to fish out her bone from the couch. She has snipped at us when trying to clip her nails, so it was time for her to move on. The kids always seemed to stress her out with their energy. We have a home she can go to and extended family member that lives by themselves which will be a much better set up for her. Tough situation but think we found the best possible solution for all involved.

That’s a tough one, making the decision to give a dog a new home.

Good morning everyone! Since I'm getting to drive one of the EV's we build this week I'm sitting in a different parking lot today charging up. I was a nervous wreck driving inside the plant because I've only done it twice in twelve years. The morning coffee is warm and delicious. I hope y'all have a good day.
