Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, With the reprieve of having to work the weekend, and getting Friday off and playing in a scramble that day, my weekend was spent spending time with the wife. Back was a little sore yesterday, but some Bio Freeze spray helped tremendously. Got a lot of yard work and reorganizing of our detached garage done and moved the chicken runs so we can build the coops behind them. Today is going to be a 14+ hour day due to training for reservists. That's going to be fun. tomorrow won't be as bad. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day. Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on a cool, cloudy, and dreary Monday here in the Motor City area. Light rain now, but supposed to stop sometime and just be cloudy, or so they say. Had a busy weekend, and did manage to get some golf in too, and today is just going to be spent doing things around the house that need attending. Spent Friday and Saturday at the Selfridge Air Base Annual Air Show, working as a volunteer preparing and serving food to those in attendance. Popular Post Erin B
Good morning spies! It’s Monday and am already working. Got to play with the kiddos yesterday and we had a great time! Not playing today, too much business to do and may have to drive to Denver. Spousal unit”s temp isn’t normal. Have to see if the dr wants to change antibiotics or see her. May delay next surgery. Popular Post Steve F
Good morning MGS Nation! Beautiful morning here in central Maryland! Nice hot cup of Earl Grey hitting the spot as I catch up on the GMT. Day three of hobbling around: made an ultrasound appointment to see what exactly is going on with this calf muscle. I'm hoping beyond all hope that it's just a matter of staying off of it and that the two days of solid icing it down, keeping it elevated and compressed will do the trick to getting me back on course sooner rather than later. This has definitely put a damper on doing things.... Awesome videos @rkj427! Back to work, the boss beckons! Have a great day, hit 'em straight MGS Nation! Popular Post Merlin1313
Good Mornin Y'all- Isn't it a WONDERFUL Monday morning- I went out and TRIED to hit some balls over the weekend.= After having not swung a club for close to a year, I'm surprised I even made contact- It was just as I suspected, but nowhere near what I was hoping for. I finally got a few nice shots off- then went home and re-watched my "Plane Truth for Golf"(Jim Hardy) and went out in the back yard to recreate what I had watched, with a lot of improvement. Our tournament is today and our tee time is 11:20. Be leaving work after the morning rush and see how it goes. Hope everybody has a wonderful day and nothing but fairways and greens!!!!!!! Popular Post TK_
Good Morning All, I double posted on accident. So, since I don’t know how to delete it, here I am. I didn’t get to play in a while and have my next league round at Town & Country Links in NJ. It has been said that it is a tough short course, but if I am not dialed, I am worried I will let the team down. My league is 4-teams of 8, stroke play, and we have monthly cash winners. We also travel monthly and have trophies for the winning team. We also have polo’s designed for the league that I have too many of and am trying to sell to put money towards our end of the year league party.Anyway, I only divulged all of this because I double posted. So, enjoy your day fellas! Hope you get the most if it. Getting back into the swing of things coming off my buddies weekend and we had a great time. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning, Spies!! Welcome to another work week, at least for those of us still working. But on the positive side, the week ahead weatherwise looks great. No rain in sight for the next 7 days! The temps are going to start to rise mid-week though, and be at 90 for our weekly Sunday round. But no rain and 90 is better than rain and no play. Trade-offs I guess. Excellent round yesterday in the overcast, humid, ugly day though. First time I've broken 90 in over 10 years I bet. 44/45/89. Things are coming along. My iron play is still hit or miss, but it's a bit less miss than it used to be. I really need to get my net setup in the garage so I can record my swing for an evaluation or two through Skillest and see how the process works and if the couple of coaches that were recommended will actually work for me. Was the first tee time out with two others and on the 2nd hole we got a text saying the course was closed due to wet conditions (there was a ton of casual water and it really was soaked). However since we had tee'd off before the notice we got to play and had the whole course to ourselves. Was great to be back on home soil and at the home track where things are just easier. Was 9 over through 15 and was playing solid golf. Amazing the difference knowing a course has and more. Weather was great and sun was shining so I feel bad for those that had their rounds cancelled. Oh and I had been up at 4 to go to work prior. A very busy day to say the least and a lot more work to come, but needed that round in after all the rounds at KM. Another round Friday morning, weather permitting. Tournament Sunday at a course that has a par 6 and think that is about it for the golf front. I have come to really rely on the Garmin S70 for its health features. Particularly the body battery. I don't normally look at it other then when I am trying to guess what it is. Last night I had a short sleep, but work up feeling great and sure enough the body battery was the highest it has been since I got the watch with an 80. It was also the best restful sleep I have had since my first night in the US. Hope everyone has an awesome Monday and looking forward to what should be a really fun week on the Forum. And that's coming from someone who prefers to avoid large crowds and stadium events. Wow the place was packed and who knew there were that many country fans in the NY Metro area and who know who he is? But yeah super rare northeast appearance has my wife and I speculating maybe this is his last year touring outside of Texas..? During the show he said he's thought for a minute, literally, of retiring but that he still loves being onstage and playing to crowds. So yeah while the Hollywood good looks are a little faded, and that full rich voice is a touch weaker .. at 72, I think it is (?), man he is still going strong and played a full set non-stop. Good mix of oldies and some of his newer songs. Plus Chris Stapleton walked back onstage and they did a few songs together! One short pause to recognize a vet he brought on stage who was the recipient of a .. get this .. *house* from a charitable foundation George is a part of (in addition to the Jennifer Strait Foundation). And as a true celebrity, I guess, he now has a tequila brand Código (yep just like in his song). Think I gotta try it... K that's the concert news Hope everyone had some fun in their weekend!! Popular Post snoopy79
Good Monday Morning Spy family! Well this weekend I traveled an hour to gift a new laptop to our neighbors 80+ year old mother and help reduce her cable/internet bills. The coolest part was she was an avid golfer in her younger days and we had great discussions about courses and how golf use to be in her day. Then yesterday I found a great deal to go play 18 for the price of 9 w/cart at a course about 25 minutes away. Long story short, there were so many groups bunched up on the course it took nearly 3 hours to finish 9 holes. We were waiting nearly 10 minutes on some tee boxes. Made it more difficult to stay in a groove. I hit well, never lost my ball, but putting suffered a bit (feeling rushed) and ended up with a 44. The SM10s performed well. We called it after 11 holes b/c our pace would have been 6+ hours. No thanks! Back to the grind today. Have a great start to your week MGS. Popular Post Byrnzee
Good morning spies! Back to work this morning after a nice weekend. Should be a relatively low-key work week, which I'm thankful for. Weather in Chicago today surprisingly cooler (low 60s instead of 70s or 80s), but should get a lot warmer as the week progresses. Another win from Scottie yesterday! Wish I could say I was surprised, but he's at another level right now. His control and awareness of his clubface at all times is extraordinary. It's hard not to pick him as the favorite at Pinehurst this week. Speaking of the US Open, I will be consuming any and all related content this week in preparation for a (hopefully) more exciting major than the last. My wife and I are finalizing our honeymoon plans to Italy later this summer. It's been stressful getting everything organized, but luckily most of the big details have been locked in and now we can plan the fun stuff. Hope everyone has a great start to their week! Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies! Back in the city after a few days in the mountains. Found a place where I can fly fish for bass. That will be fun. It was hot when we got home around noon at 101, so I did my exercise band work and headed out onto the course. Did not see another person out there. Played 7 holes before my legs gave out. Two bogies, 3 pars, and a birdie. No warm up other than the bands. The video I follow call this workout "buck 50". So 150 squats, 150 hamstring curls, 150 squatted back rows, and 150 lat pull downs. It was 81 at 6 this morning on its way to 105 for the round today. Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! The back is feeling better today. Not perfect, but better. I'm going to baby it a little bit more before hitting balls or doing any workouts. Probably will be practicing putting and chipping for a while, and even that in limited amounts, as taking a stance aggravates my back at times. GF says it's pouring at the Casa, but no rain 140 miles to the northwest in Raleigh, so weather doesn't seem to be an issue. Speaking of weather, looks like the forecast this weekend in Pinehurst is not too bad, 20% chance of rain at most. Of course it's not the rain but the that causes the big problems. 19 hours ago, MattWillGolf said: Safe travels. At my age I’ve discovered that heated seats can be therapeutic. Given my achy back, I was disappointed yesterday to find my rental car had a heated steering wheel but no heated seats. Got through the drive anyway. Hopefully that absence doesn't come back to bite me later in the week when I have a couple of 4-hour drives on tap. @cksurfdude looks like fun! I don't normally look at it other then when I am trying to guess what it is. Last night I had a short sleep, but work up feeling great and sure enough the body battery was the highest it has been since I got the watch with an 80. It was also the best restful sleep I have had since my first night in the US. I don't think I want an S70 because it would probably give me a negative number on the body battery. Popular Post skraeling
It is monday, but the news isnt all bad. The fujikura shaft is out for delivery today so at least something for me to look forward to this afternoon. Then league tomorrow. Overall not a bad way to start the week. edit: though I do have some sad news. my poor little shotscope H4 did not survive the charity scramble friday. It is now one with the grass on some hole. It departed my cart at an unknown time sadly. Welp... that was a very expensive round of golf. not sure ill be replacing it though as at 140.00.... ugh nope. Popular Post Preeway
Good morning, everyone. About to hit the road and head back to Omaha. Not really eager to drive 1700 miles but very eager to sleep in my own bed again. The golf and the weather were absolutely perfect. June and July really are the best months on the Oregon Coast. Not too hot and the wind isn’t at its worst yet. Although I did get unusually high winds for this time of year. Still, no complaints here. I hope everyone has a great start to their week. Popular Post Michael.Sandoval33
Good morning spies, One coffee deep, up and getting ready for a range session. I haven't hit the range in over a month. Really just due to a bit of shoulder soreness that has lingered for years and opting to play the course instead. But, after the last outing, a range session or three is needed before really getting back on the fairways again. Hope you all have a great start to the week!
