Hopefully you will be able to post some cool pics.  Also, that sounds like a good opportunity to post in the course review thread 🙂

Our Wednesday group played a 'sister' course today in Sun City Center. I haven't played this course since February of 2022 (and then only once)  so it was basically a new to me course. The front was terrible - just couldn't get in the grove, drives were short and putter felt odd. Ended the front with a 49. Fortunately. I had the aha moment (use your pre-shot routine dummy!) starting out the back and I was ripping the driver an extra 25-35 yds from the front. Ended up with a 41 on the back helped by a birdie on a long par 4 and this shot on a par 5.

Given my struggles with my new Ping G425 SFT driver, I decided to go back to an older Anser driver I had until my issues are resolved.  Percentage of fairways hit doubled to 64% which is still lower than I am used to.  All my misses were right as there's no excessive draw bias that I have to deal with.  I did hit three greens in regulation.  I can't believe I left about six putts on the lip today.   The total putts made distance for my first six holes had to be about two feet.   In general, my aim and pace were pretty good meaning that hopefully in the not-too-distant future they will start to drop.

Played 18 right after my wife and I had lessons this morning. Probably not the best time to go out and play - she was working on her irons/hybrids and I on my putting. We made it through the 18 without killing each other 🤪

Played 18 right after my wife and I had lessons this morning. Probably not the best time to go out and play - she was working on her irons/hybrids and I on my putting. We made it through the 18 without killing each other 🤪

You shot your handicap right after lessons... and the "other" distractions... haha.  Not too shabby Tony 🙂  How did your wife play??

Soggy course, CPO and I didn't drive the ball well most of the day. My putter saved me often.

First round in a couple of weeks after a 2 week holiday. Really struggled on the greens which were significantly quicker than my last few rounds. Consistently well past the hole before over adjusting 😢. Didn’t capitalise on a stretch of better than average ball striking, highlight was flushing driver and 3 wood to 15 feet on a par 5, lowlight was the 3 putt par that followed 😂😂

Not my best showing.  The front 9 sucked hard.  Couldn't get ANYTHING to work.  Everything seemed to be ok at the range, but then put the ball on grass and it's all leaning back and throwing the arms.   Most strikes were either fat or thin, by a lot.  Maybe even with the putter. 😉  I had one hole where I topped the ball with my hybrid to have it go two yards THREE TIMES.  Then, another where I avoided the water on a par 3 with my second shot, but took four chips to get it up hill onto the green, all of about 3 yards away.  Throw in tough hole positions and not being able to adjust for the green speed and it became a disaster.

Got myself turned right side up on the back 9.  Played just under my handicap for that half.   Some redemption for the day.  I did lose three balls and hit two houses.  One went into the water.  I usually lose balls on this course, it eats them, but I don't think I've annoyed as many homeowners before as I did today.

Also, I only pulled out the driver once, and confirmed it was a mistake.  My longest "drive" was with my 4 wood, and it layed up just a yard from the green.  I then screwed it up with a thinned chip into a bunker, out, then three putt on a par 3.   I was pretty happy with how I was hitting my 4 wood and 22° hybrid overall today and was able to correct most of the slicing issues on the second half.

FYI, TheGrint has the course as Yellow/Green, but it was Green/Yellow today, so flip-flop each half when reading the scorecard.  Most courses I play white tees, but this course is short and the blue tees are only 5-10 yards back, so just play blue.

I finally put together two good nine holes today.  I changed to an old Ping Anser driver and I hit more fairways today.  It was nice hitting a few more fairways and being on the right side rough!  No more big-time hooks!  The difference between other of my noneventful rounds was better chipping and putting.  Fourteen one putt greens today and only two greens in regulation just illustrates a great day of chipping and putting.

Just as I was notified that I was on a soft cap for my relatively poor play the last few weeks, I have a good day!

My former operations manager used to say "one is an accident, twice is a coincidence and three times is a trend."  What we had here to day was an accident!

I know better than it being an "Accident" G2M.  Good playing!  So what is your forward path in the driver slot?  Are you still working on a version of the G425, or moving elsewhere?
