It’s funny when you look through the handicap rating of each hole and think “that’s supposed to be the easiest/hardest hole? No way!” I got a natural birdie on hole 3 which is the 16th hardest hole. It’s a 170 yard hole that I think I’ve only hit the green a handful of times ever. I would rank it in the top 5 hardest holes on the course. Oh well. Decent play today with 4 blowup holes.

One of those days where I hit it great but didn’t score. Played one tee farther back but course felt mostly the same. Did not putt great.

Plus, when I was 5 the first ball I ever hit on a golf course went in the hole, so I have that going for me.

My bag is a mish mash of Ping drivers, cobra and adams fairways, TA1 irons and Hopkins wedges, plus a Cure putter.

Weather was the best ever - mid 70's with light winds and plenty of blue skies. I was rockin and rolling until 17 when I splashed 2 in the water🤬. That kept me from breaking 80 - a first for me - but I did end up with a par on 18 so that'll keep me coming back. My wife also played well. ending with a 95  - 7 strokes better than her handicap.

2 in the water on the same hole - yuk! Had a whole bunch of par's and kept the bogies to a minimum. Men's group tomorrow on my least favorite 9's hope the trend carries over to tomorrow.

Well, it was as expected.  After a week of conference work, late nights, equipment issues and weather that was unpredictable one should be given some leeway to not play to their potential. All things considered it was a good day out with local friends/clients, a new course with great views, a bit of weather that turned out ok in the end, and a refrigerated In-n-Out burger for brekky!

The injury wasn't painful, but was expressing itself in my inconsistency throughout gameplay.  Fortunately, only one of our group was shooting better than I was.  This was a tough course, and we weren't prepared for it.  We played from the blues (white on most courses).  Tee shots tend to be shorter or very straight.   Approaches are usually uphill over bunerkers or a short pitch from the right.  Course management is key to scoring on this old course, and the bunkers are a bi†ch. I did take 7 strokes to get out of a greenside bunker on #11.  All said though, it's a very well designed course where accuracy is key.  Greens approach need to be spot on, over you are in a ravine, under you'd better bring a towel.

It had been rainy all week, though there was only one real troublesome puddle on #12.  Happened to be in a blind spot over a hill that you could easily hit from the tee if you were a good player. 🙂  We all missed it (a few times).  However, it rained pretty steadily from the 2nd to the 5th hole.  Then off and on again breaks of sun.  Never got above 48 degrees really.  Still took us three hours to finish the front nine.  As it was picking up, we let quite a few groups through on the back nine, and didn't finish past 16 as a couple of us had an airport transfer to catch from the Embarcadero.

Enjoy the pics!

WEEK 22 FINAL LEADERBOARD

MYGOLFSPY FORUM MEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR

=======================================

image.png

I can see the play is starting to increase as we inch closer to Spring!  22 individual scores this week.  That is GREAT!!

WEEK 22 WINNERS

Low Net Score to Par

image.png

image.png

@tony@CIC fired a Gross 84 / Net 68 - 4 under (-4) at Scepter to capture this week's Black Jacket.  I have a feeling he will have a round in the 70's before long!!! Close behind and tied at Net 2 (-2) under were @snicerz and @fredsharky.  Great playing everyone.

Most Net Birdies or Better

image.png

image.png

@PeterHenric lit it up at Rhodes Ranch with a total of 7 net birdies or better on the way to his round of Net 1 under (-1).  Congrats on breaking 90 and for winning this week's Birdie Badge!  Tied for 2nd place were @Albatrossx3, @Golfspy_TCB, @fozcycle, and @daviddvm.. all with 5 net birdies or better this week.  There is some great golf being played already this spring!

Longest Drive

image.png

image.png

It isn't often I get a lucky big bounce on a downwind hole to post a 300 yard drive... but it doesn't matter... because Mr. Big Hitter himself once again posted the Longest Drive of the week.  Congratulations to @snicerz for his 313 yard drove at Lincoln Park GC.

The Season is getting near the end, so be sure to post all your scores over the next few weeks to rack up the MGS Forum Cup Points, and get tuned up for the Season 2 Kickoff the first week of April.

As always... PLAY OFTEN / POST OFTEN!!
