So there is going to be a playoff tomorrow i am guessing. 

Leaderboard is pretty bunched and if conditions stay similar low scores and more guys are going to be going low catching up.

These are the scorecards from the courses I play most of the year;  the slopes and ratings seem pretty comparable to the stadium course.

As a kiwi who lived in Sydney 33 years I'm rooting for the aussies too lol, had a tennis mate who moved to Perth 40 years ago and bought a nice apartment for $26k ....

Anyone else realize that MWL had driver ball speeds of 190 plus... he isn't a huge guy but man does he hit it well. Fun to watch him and between him and Scottie today should be an epic and fun finish.

The Rahm WD certainly stings. and Rory MC sucks. I had JT as well so could have been much worse, but I still have Homa and Scottie.

I heard about the ball speed at the Broadcast wrap up!  He not that big of a guy either!

Watched him at the Victorian Open that he won a few years ago (co sanctioned European Tour at the time) Stunning how far he hit the ball, was even more slight then, looked like he needed to run around to get wet in the shower

Yup, he’s going to have a nice career.  He ears his post game interview last night and sounds like a nice kid.

Scottie is tough but MWL is also.  Going to be interesting especially 17 if it’s really close.

Scheffler looks tuned in, but maybe cocky enough to put one or 2 in the water along the way?

I'm looking forward to the finish. So many sitting a few strokes off the pace with the windy conditions could be fun. I like watching all the ties and the putts that end up being worth $300k.

Scheff game looks aggressive off the tee which is fun.

MWL using that iron off the tee a bunch and reaching 160 ball speed with it! So good.

Could be a fireworks finish with Hatton sitting there a few shots back but in the clubhouse.

Great play by Scheffler today.  Nice that he had his grandmother there to watch him pull it off.  On a side note, when they showed a clip of Spieth teeing off on 17, there was a guy sitting directly behind him in the gallery wearing aviator sunglasses that looked a lot like Patrick Reid.  I'm sure it wasn't really him but that would have been funny to see him in the gallery.

Scotty is simply the best, number 1 for a very good reason, driving, chipping, putting, wow, what a performance

Scottie did it big today.  Was really pulling for MWL to snag a top 4.  Commentators mentioned something about a PGA exemption if he did.  Shame to see him miss it by 1 or 2 strokes

I'll agree with everything but putting.  Statistically he is a mediocre putter.

a friend of mine once told me, "never let the accountants run your company" so I say, "never let statistics tell the whole story" the television showed me some very timely and important putts.

While statistically true, he seems to make a lot of putts when he really needs them. He had a lot of close misses at Sawgrass too. He is leading off the tee, and tee to green at present.

One of my favorite tournaments every year, and this one was great as well. Nice to see the pros really challenged and several up and comers had good showings that should build their confidence.

I copied this quote about Scotty Scheffler..."In junior and college golf, he was prescribed medication for his stomach indigestion. Leading into big tournaments, he’d ache for more than a week."

Immediately I segued back to stories about Bobby Jones having to retire at an early age due to nerves, it just proves that everyone handles stress differently and it can be debilitating at times..

Kindof humanizes him for me.

I've viewed this event as a Masters preview...who is in form, who is struggling.

I only watched Sunday coverage consistent with what I do for any tournament other than Slam events.

Clearly Scheffler is playing a level above others.

I like to understand perspective which is by I am asking the following questions:

what is a timely and important putt or a really needed putt?  How do you measure those in an objective way?   If you look at his putting performance he really didn’t make many putts above what his peers were making.  He was very good from tee to green.  Let’s look at round 4 putting

6. 45’, 4’
7. 22’, 17”

in my opinion and vast experience at high level competition, A timely or important putt would be any putt of any distance that could or would 1-keep momentum going 2-extend a lead by a comfortable margin ie: 2-3 strokes, 3-settle your nerves by making a putt that in your mind you should make 4-cut into the gap between you and the leader... that is all I can think about at this time.

I suppose if you havent experienced competitive golf no putt matters.
