What Accessories Do You Carry?

Recommended Posts

  • SPY VIP

Just wondering what non-standard accessories everyone else carries in their bag. 3 things I always have with me:

  • Green Fix Wizard Divot Tool
  • Ball-Brite ball and club cleaner - So simple, but it works so well.
  • Sumi-G Headcovers - These guys have taken headcovers to a
whole new level. Now it doesn't even matter when the OEM headcovers suck (because they usually do).

How about you guys?

Great topic. I try to carry the bare minimum as I am a walker but I always bag a couple of accessories including driveway sticks to help with alignment on the range, a SKILZ swing weight thingy to attach to my club to warm up, and my Skycaddie 2.5.

What do the covers look like on your irons? I would use if I could find any I could stomach the look of.

I use Club Glove. There are different models, and I have the ones with the most padding

I tried covers once upon a time. With the hassle of pulling them on and off, losing them, and the incessant ridicule, I gave up. Besides, I think a little big chatter gives clubs character.

I game iron covers for a while. Then I realized that it wasn't necessary with Ping irons. You could run these babies over with a Abrams Tank and they wouldn't show a scratch.

Only 6 balls? That's confidence. I always bring WAY more balls than I need, otherwise I feel like I'm tempting fate.

One of those double sided groove brushes with brass or plastic brushes

Other than the usual accessories (you know stuff that almost everybody has in their bag), I carry a silver dollar. I found it on the golf course when I was 10 years old and have used it to mark my ball in every round since. When I was in highschool, it was known as the "man hole cover". Everybody in my conference knew the silver dollar well. If I'm anywhere near anybody's line I'm always sure to swap the dollar for a dime. The simple appearance of the "man hole cover" between you and the hole can be pretty distracting!

I have found a new ball. I love these things. The crazy thing is, there were 2 guys in the group playing them. The yellow is so much easier to see. I only needed a single sleeve to play 18 at Chambers Bay. I got lucky. I drove it fairly well, and found the ones I didn't hit so good. All in all, a perfect day.

Good to hear. Were there any situations where is wasn't easier to see them?
