I was curious about these, having seen a lot of responses on here of people using them. They've caught my eye in the past simply from sorting by lowest price on e-commerce sites. RockBottomGolf has them for under $3 each and I've seen packs of 13 for less than that per grip.

Also didn't realize they have blue and red.

Mine are blue, they were a Christmas gift from my kids. They have received a lot of really good reviews, I normally play Lamkin UTx in midsize so I want to see how they compare. I change out grips often so if they don't work out, no big deal.

... Golfers preferences are always interesting. Since the grip is the only thing about our equipment we have actual contact with and being very much a feel player, I want all my grips to be exactly the same and different butt diameters always frustrate me. I will try new grips from time to time but on one club only and then back to my current grips. But it is so interesting that you can play at a high level with completely different grips so good for you!

Currently have 3 across the bag without the putter, 4 if you're including that. All of my grips are standard size. I've tried a midsize grip on my driver to help alleviate grip pressure but not a fan. At most I'll throw a second wrap of tape if I have it laying around when I go to regrip. you'll see I'm slowly trying to convert my back over to corded grips as I've come to absolutely love the feel of them!

So lets get into it:

Driver/FW/Hybrid all get the Golf Pride Z Grip Cord

image.png.817a030d6d6651ae45ff2a55278fab55.png

Irons have the Golf Pride Multicompound Black/white (with the exception of the 4 iron because they messed up the order and its black/blue)

image.png.d469172ff466a46f384c2db6675b1bbb.png

Wedges all have Golf pride tour velvet 360's

image.png.f8cd10f98eb5a9b8925c0af932eb4212.png

Putter is set up with a Ping PP58 corded with double tape.

I'm currently at 5 different grips not including the putter however i am planning on regripping my irons soon which would bring the count down to 4 since my 7iron is a different grip than the rest of the set. I like to test a few rounds with the new grip on the 7iron first before changing over. Everything has to earn a spot at the table with me and the PURE DTX grips have definitely done that.

3, if you count the putter

D - Golf Pride MCC +4 jumbo

everything else - Lamkin Crossline Oversized

P - Super Stroke Traxion Flatso 2.0

At one point I tried a jumbo max on the driver, but it was too big for my comfort.

I have GolfPride Tour Velvet Full Cord on all my clubs except the fairway wood because apparently the entire world was out of stock when I bought it so it has the ZCord Grip on it. My putter has the Press Grip that comes on L.A.B. Directed Force putters which gives it an automatic forward shaft lean at address.

I wasn’t sure if this is the right thread but I don’t think this warrants it’s own so this is more for a laugh. A Buddy of mine got into golf more seriously a few years ago. He’s playing with a lot of Hand-me-downs and he pulled this out of the bag yesterday.

My grips are all different at this point.  Driver has a stock Lamkin grip.  3 wood has whatever PXG branded grip it came with.  7 wood has a blue Tour Wrap of some sort.  My hybrids have black Tour Wrap jumbo grips.  Cobra AMP irons still have whatever stock orange grips came on them.  Wedges have standard Golf Pride grips.  Putter has a cheap knockoff grip from when my son tried his hand at re-gripping clubs.  Next clubs will be a lot more uniform!

I have swapped out my grips this weekend so all irons and wedges (plus my hybrid) have blue Karma velour mid sized grips on them. So just my woods have Lamkins.

  • 3 weeks later...

This is something I need to work on fixing, I am playing 6 different grips including putter.

Driver is GP MCC, 3W is Crossline 360, hybrids are TM RBZ grip similar to Tour Velvet but different, Irons are Lamkin Wrap grip, have some Crosslines and Tour Velvet in wedges, Putter is Odyssey grip.

With new irons on the way with Crossline +2wraps bottom hand, the plan is to replace one of the wedges and the hybrid that need re-gripping to match the irons. Slowly transition everything to this as re-gripping needs to happen or new clubs are purchased.

Interesting timing for this thread up pop up as I was just doing some grip research.

I'm really torn between what grips to be playing and using. Also finding that depending on my glove makes a big impact as well. My Sussex much prefers the golf pride cp2 over the the mCC4..

I'm on a search for my go to grip and do really like the Larkin z cord. I've been changing in and out grips this year and have a bit of a mix and match at the moment.

... I would highly recommend wrapping your fingers around a Lamkin ST Hybrid +2 grip and see what you think. The best thing I can say about them is I no longer even notice them. I play without glove and need a solid connection with no slipping so I had to wipe down my Tour Velvet, REM3's and UTx with a towel almost every swing to keep the grip tacky or they slipped and the ST Hybrids don't need to be wiped down during a round at all. I don't have to tell you about marketing but the Fingerprint Technology/Genesis Material is the real deal. Not tacky but no slipping. Worth a look.

wedges - Golf Pride MCC Midsize

irons/woods- Golf Pride MCC +4 Midsize

Through an extensive amount of trial and error I have arrived at this combination of grips. Which means by next season, I’ll be ready to blow it all up and try something new 😬

I would second this. Have these on my Mizunos and really like them a lot.

I can’t leave much alone either. 😂 I’ve been using the same model of grips for a few years now and I still look at others and wonder if they would be any different/better.

Driver - Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360

Putter - Odyssey Pistol grip

Rest of bag- OEM grips

The feel of the Tour Velvet is a step up from the OEM grips, but it’s not super grippy (especially once hands get sweaty) and I’d prefer some alignment aides down the grip. I think of the grips, I like the Odyssey Pistol grip the best.

I was recommended the Winn DriTac line for sweaty hands, so might give that a try down the road.
