Fe-man
Slowly getting over tennis elbow and looking to resume in spring. Currently playing T200 irons and wondering if I would be advised to switch to a different iron step to minimize wrist and elbow impact. Open to any suggestions or even recovery ideas. null
Graphite shafts seem to help a lot of people with chronic wrist and elbow issues. Graphite acts as a shock absorber while steel transfers more of the energy from striking the ground up through the hands and into the arms russtopherb, berkeleybob, Kansas King and 1 other 4 Quote Link to comment
richk9holes
Mine is self diagnosed, never repaired, but couldn't have been too severe bc it feels like it's healed over time. About 18 months ago I had trouble holding a club in my right hand without this Shock Doctor elbow band. Most people put it below their elbow, but it all depends where the ligaments are damaged. For me just above the elbow is actually the best spot. Quote Finding a way to turn birdies into bogeys since 1992. Dweed
Just be careful dude. See if you can't contact a "Sports PT" organization for some advise in this matter. Can't be too safe. Good luck in your healing. berkeleybob
I recovered from tennis elbow by following some stretches I found on YouTube, taking ibuprofen and wearing a compression sleeve while on the range or course. I also took my time and didn't push it. That's how I recovered. I currently use steel shafts, and it didn't get in the way of my recovery. However, moving forward, I am contemplating graphite shafts because of my wrists. According to Mayo Clinic's site, it usually goes away on its own, but if it doesn't, consult a health professional. Parshooter36
Another vote for graphite shafts here. I switched to graphite in my irons and wedges last year and my arm started feeling better surpisingly fast. I almost wonder if it was a coincidence because it seemed too good to be true after having pain on every swing for several months. Either way, I will never have steel shafts in anything but my putter from here on out. Kansas King
Graphite shafts will likely help. ProSoft dampening inserts can also be put in your steel shafts if you're looking to save a few bucks and keep the feel of steel. Quote Link to comment
tdkrod
Look up Fiix tennis/golf elbow repair. Had pretty severe elbow issues. I bought their device, they have an app that tells you how to rehab. I kept playing while rehabbing, was surprised at the results, am now playing pain free. Quote Link to comment
