We are playing 5 courses (pine lakes, grande dunes, azalea sands, beachwood and myrtle beach national. My game has already collapsed completely but it is great weather. Azalea sands was in horrible shape but everything else has been good so far!

If I would have know you were going, I would have steered you away from Azalea Sands and Beachwood. The other three are great courses. Tons of great courses in MB. For the most part they are not easy either.

We played azalea sands because it was right next to beachwood but they told us it was going to be rough. Only $30 for 18 with a cart makes sense. Some of the thinnest, firmest fairways I have come across.

Beachwood was in terrible shape last season and charged $65 for crappy conditions. Tee boxes were close to being dirt. You had to look for apatch of grass to tee off from. A few holes had construction going on near the greens.

Weird day. 90 is the worst score I had the 5 rounds I played this week. Yet it didn't feel like the worst round I played. 8/14 FW and 6/18 GIR hit. Had double bogey the 1st 4 holes, made the turn +12, then shot 42 on the back with 19 putts. 40 total putts I had a 4 putt after hitting the short par 3 #3 within 40' on the front. I'd like to fill and steamroll that entire 73 yard hole over water and make a new one.

After playing Mon-Tue, Thur-Fri and hitting a large bucket Wed, playing 23 holes on the indoor simulator last night, I officially exhausted myself. My back feels like a pillow case filled with rocks I'm carrying above my butt, which was dragging from hole #2 walk down the fairway today.

Many of my strokes lost were on "good shots" not bad strikes. I hit 2x PW over greens with a yardage 105-115. One resulted in a penalty, the other a 3 putt. A 9i on another hole flew over a target that was 135y away.

I'm just hitting the sweet spot better and not accounting for my better striking. Using old gapping numbers, basically. When my new club comes in a couple days I have to do a full session anyway.

49- 40 front nine was a joy, trouble getting off the tee again, one awesome drive I didn’t measure as I was in awe that it happened.

back nine was better as I found the fairway more often.

saving grace for me were the recovery shots. Guess I missed in the right spots and had some good luck.

played a new ball as well, the Snell “Get sim”. I really liked it. Held the greens, when I actually hit the center face of the driver the ball took off. Wish I would have measured a couple of them. It was cold mid 40’s and cooled off from there. Had to club up later in the round.

Everything was going well on this round. Left a couple putts on the table and my approach shots at the beginning of the round was rough. Still a good round. image.png.38ec712488980f870349cf8f30b18ead.png

My long drive Sunday was great contact but also a bit embarrassing. Wind was out of the North and it just held out to the left a bit. To top it off, I got a terrible bounce that sent it off the fairway and almost into a back yard. I managed to salvage par after a great chip. The moral of the story, as long as it's in play, focusing the driver isn't going to effect your score as much as a good short game can help it.

My approach (80-120 yrds) still needs some attention. It's been holding me back lately. Regardless, I accomplished one of my goals this year, sort of . . . went even par. I say sort of because it was from the whites - 1 up from the tips. The real goal was to shoot even par from the tips. I'll get there, already close.

Years ago I unknowingly was cupping my lead wrist and I read somewhere that was a recipe for disaster.  Ever since I intentionally pronate my lead wrist near the top of my backswing.  It’s just an automatic trait now.  However, it has led to rolling my forearms which is had crept int as a habit, which I am working hard to break.

Ironically, the forearm rolling led to a lot of pure contact with a draw and extra yards, but always a strong pull well to the left of target.   I fought the ‘result’ for years by targeting well to the right of my target, but eliminating the forearm roll gives me a straighter, more predictable result with a slight draw,

Yeah, I saw the cupped wrist issue happen a number of times lo. There's just so much that can go wrong. That's why I'm happy that I'm fortunate enough to be able to get routine lessons. While I don't like the cost of the lessons, I feel like I'm getting value out of them for sure. Having the trained eye to keep me in line, making sure I'm get the right habits, but also making sure I don't introduce new bad habits is huge for me. People I play with keep telling me I did it right by just starting with lessons. I'm starting to see the cycles with my playing partners where they find something to try to fix an issue they think they have only to add a bad habit that just messes up their swing. Then they get to work on unlearning the bad habit just to get back to square one.

Awful start. Used my handicap in the first 6 holes.  Putting was extremely poor. Including a few from the fringe had 6 x 3 putts. Greens were quick and my previous round was on extremely slow greens and I really struggled to adjust.

Pleased with my finish. One over for the last 10 holes was a big improvement.

WEEKLY VIRTUAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR

===============================================

WEEK 26 FINAL RESULTS

image.png

Can you believe this is exactly one half a year we have been competing in the WVCT!!!!  26 Weeks in the books.  Awesome participation from everyone, and a huge thanks to all who have posted scores through the last 6 months.  We almost got to 30 scores this week... 27 individual scores posted.

Week 25 Winners

Low Net Score

image.png

image.png

We have a new weekly champion this week - and will be wearing the MGS Forum Black Jacket Badge this week, and just to make sure his week was fortified... @richk9holes also took 2nd place 🙂 .  Playing at Mercer Oaks East, @richk9holes shot a gross 83 / net 68 for a 4 under (-4) net score to take the #1 spot this week.  Great playing Rich!!!  As mentioned, he backed it up with a -1 net score at Hanover GC, which tied for 2nd place with @vandyland who also shot -1 net, playing at Beachwood GC.

Most Birdies or Better

image.png

image.png  image.png  image.png

As usual, the top score, also has many net birdies or better, and this week is no different.  @richk9holes posted the most net birdies or better with 7.  But since he is wearing the Black Jacket, the Birdie Badge will be awarded to the next best... and that spot, goes to.... MANY.  With 6 net birdies or better - @GaryF, @JFish350, and @daviddvm, will be sporting the Birdie Badge this week. Nice playing guys!

Longest Drive

image.png

image.png

What would a long drive week be without a crazy long drive from @snicerz🤣 This week's jaw dropping drive was 341 yards.  And I thought last week's 337 yarder was big?!?!  @snicerz trophy case is filling up with Long Drive awards!!

See you all in Week 27... the last week for posting scores in Season 1.  Season 2 will kick off during Masters week.  Looking forward to the final Season 1 results, and what the new season brings!

Gotta get back to focusing on my Stack training. The wind isn't always there to hlep. I feel like PMookie is probably hitting a natural 324.
