How do you mark your ball (not ball marker)?

Recommended Posts

Always a horseshoe under/around the number (if there is a number).  Was thinking this morning however, of numbering my balls this season, starting with 1 obviously, to see how many o go through…numbers will get pretty high I’m afraid!  LOL

I use a ball marker that allows me to draw 3 lines on my Bridgestone balls similar to the Callaway triple track balls, and I use different colors so they are usually unique compared to anyone I play with.

No pics at the moment, but I’ve did this for awhile now, but the number of dots have increased throughout the years. 4 dots, 4 kids. 2 blue dots, 2 pink. 2 boys/2 girls. I do however, mark a black line over the name. I use the line off the tee, to where I want to aim my tee shot & hardly use the line putting. I’ve tried, but always feel off. If I do use it putting, it’s mostly 10ft & under.

I always play in a foursome & usually someone uses the same ball as mine.

I put “X”’s on all my balls, all over the place. This way I can tell if it’s my ball, or not, w/o having to get close to it.

this, for me works great. Sometimes when I hit into woods/water and I’m searching for the ball I hit, I actually find my older balls.(I play the same course about 95% of the time)

2 Blue dots above & below the number on Bridgestone.  Dots move to the left & right on a Titleist ball.

The Sneaky mark I did for a while, was to fill in the gap on the Bridgestone B with blue sharpie.

In my group we have Pink dot(s), Green dot(s), Purple dot(s), Red line, Initials, yin/yang stamp, and the guy who plays whatever ball he found on the last hole

If the ball is white, I spin them on a Check Go Pro and put a dot on the top of the spin axis. Then I draw a line along the spin axis and go from there. Any color is OK with me.

If I'm using the Vice Drip, I don't mark it at all since it's easily identifiable.

I also try to hit a different number if I need a provisional.

For a while, I used one of those golf ball stencils - a cloverleaf.  Recently I've just been ordering direct from Titleist and having my name put on the ball.

I use two green dots on the right side of the number on one side and two green dots on the left side of the number on the other side of the ball. Green because it’s the color of money…

I put the numerals "082304" somewhere on the ball.

I was in a very serious accident, on this date, and almost died during the Life Flight, to the hospital, and then almost died during 3 of 8 surgeries in the ICU...it was literally touch and go.

So now...I use that as my mark to let me remember that the Good Lord is not finished with me yet...and that Golf is just a game....and there many other things, in life, that are oh so much more important than a number, on a scorecard.....

Last year I used a black sharpie and blue sharpie and made a little "triangle" of dots on the side of the text on the ball. Not sure if I will go that route again this year or change it up.

Wow! I'm amazed at how many use green dots. I also use a green dot to the upper left of the number. I originally decided to use green

because no one else at my course used green. There were plenty using black, blue or red. I've  never played with anyone else using green.

I've been doing it now for maybe 30 years.

I put three cursive "j" (my initial" around the equator more or less aligned with the alignment stripe. One of them is usually visible no matter how the ball lies, so I can determine it's mine without moving it.

Well, I use Vice Pro balls and normally wait till they send me a deal for free printing since I usually buy 10 dozen at a time. Then I have a graphic of my college mascot that I modified a bit, saved it as a .jpg and send that in to be printed on the ball. No one I play with can mistake who the ball belongs to!! In fact, I have had friends come in after a round with one my "lost" balls they found and they bring it right to me telling me where they found it!!
