With the fourth pick in the 2023 Cobra Draft, former Cobra Connect Champion Extraordinaire, @GolfSpy BOS has selected Tom Brady @Tom the Golf Nut in what can only be described as the steal of the draft.  Undoubtedly Tom will raise up against the other Moderators to prove that he too is deserving of the name "Tom" and will ascend to the ranks of Cobra GOATs on forum history.

And so it is written and so it shall be.  Beware of this Cobras bite.

... To put trash talking aside for just a moment and to be completely honest, I would have chosen you first. I can go low but a tight back can derail any low scores for me and I think you are pretty darned steady. Of course we both have to look out for those getting a ton of strokes because one good or even lucky round from a high or even mid index player can be really tough to beat. All in all I love that all 3 index categories are being represented along with the 3 corresponding types of irons and clubs, so it should be a ton of fun for everyone!

Coming in at #2 we have a true under dog story in #teamchunks. Will he turn out to play like Ryan Leaf or will he run over the competition like Eric Dickerson? 

Time will tell.

Just to let y'all know the upside has no ceiling and there ain't no downside because I honestly don't think it could get any worse than where I've been.

I'm hungry for than just biscuits and gravy, I'm looking to feast on my competitors.

... Oh to be clear you are welcome to it and I am not playing an underdog. I am a past my prime, aging, self proclaimed Super Star that has fallen prey to some kind of QaMod Conspiracy and plan on rewarding GolfSpy Sam with a runaway victory.

Now that the picks are in, waiting for the rest of the clubs to arrive, and then the real games can begin.

Hope the mods will "level the playing field" by giving those whose clubs haven't arrived, the same time to practice as @chisag (Sam) and @sirchunksalot (Jason) have had.

Should be a very interesting Cobra Challenge!

... I was thinking more along the lines of we start the day after Memorial Day and if someone's clubs aren't in yet, they forfeit.

First of all, Congratulation to the Cobra Draft Class of 2024.  You all earned your spot in the CGL (Cobra Golf League) and we expect fierce and steadfast competition.  This draft class was deep, but there were some surprises with self-highly-praised draftees falling precipitously in the draft and more humble, kindhearted golfers rocketing up the draft board!

But without further ado, here is the result of the 2024, Cobra 50th Anniversary Member Special Draft.

1. With the first pick in the 2023 Cobra Draft @Golfspy_CG2 has selected @Jnoble89 in a surprising, yet understandable pick.  Jason has shown to be a top quality, if relatively new, forum member and is expected to see significant gains from his new Cobra gear.  No Pressure kid, you're ONLY the first pick.

2. With the second pick in 2023 Cobra Draft @GolfSpy_APH has selected a true southern gentlemen in @sirchunksalot.  With his southern twang, smooth style, and "Sir" in his name we all knew Jason was going to go early in this draft, and I was personally surprised to see him go second.

3.  With the third pick in the 2023 Cobra Draft @GolfSpy_BNG has selected a fellow mid-westerner in @JerryB hailing for Courtland, IL relying on his knowledge of golf conditions in the area to do some advance scouting seeing that Jerry will have prime scoring conditions all challenge long.  *Mark also did not trade out of the #3 selection.  I feel that is important to note.

With the fifth pick in 2023 Cobra Draft @GolfSpy SAM weighed his options ultimately deciding upon our very own @chisag.  After the selection @GolfSpy SAM offered to the media "He's and actor, I'm an actor.  It just made sense!"  While some, including @chisag himself expected to be at the top of the draft class, his role as "Male Guest" in 2008's The Dark Night has raised some concerns over links to the shady criminal underworld of Gotham City.

This is for sure the first time I have ever been picked 1st in my life. The honor is high, the pressure is immeasurable, and I am stoked to get this party started! Nightly 3 hole course practices are now all but a guarantee to my training regimen. @Golfspy_CG2 I will do my best to not let you down!

You win. But at least I’m in the game. Or I can dig out a complete set of 1995 King Cobra ll’s 1 iron through the lob wedge.

... You and me both! I still regret every letting go of my Cobra SS Forged irons and think they should be in the golf equipment HOF. I would add the original Fly Z but my son still has mine with a Nunchuk 100gm shaft in it and he isn't every letting it go unless he breaks the face. Those and Z101's should still be in my Golf Room.
