Looped 17, 18 and 10 again tonight as part of my new training regimen. Two GIRs and finished with a par on 10. If nothing else, I’ll be able to play those three holes very well  

Driver was meh, couple toe misses and a top spin knuckler that left me with some longer approaches, but had one GIR with my hybrid from 215ish and another with my 7i from 165!

I did scramble well out of the missed drives which I was pleased with and my 56° was really good on 100 and in

Summers last a lot longer in North Carolina but I'm getting older by the minute. I'm already bald and gray. Hopefully the clubs get here before I'm so old that I have to get up in the middle of the night to pee.

... Well gents, my cobra clubs were a little tired after all the play they have been getting so I took they day off and let them have an afternoon nap. They should be well rested for tomorrow's round.

... Bummer my man. I had too many rounds with gnats caught in my eye that had to be extracted and my nose, ears and mouth. One of the real joys of the desert is yea, it gets silly hot but I have never encountered a gnat or mosquito or really any kind of bug on the course, other than grasshoppers. And they don't last long with all the Roadrunners.

I can't think of anything worse than the gnats flying into your ear canal and buzzing at the top of your back swing. It already got me twice in the same round last week. You can't stop yourself from flinching. Bug spray seems to have little effect on those buggers. I got to research what works now that I'm thinking about it.

I never saw a live roadrunner before. I'll have to come for a visit someday.

Same here. The gnats have been absolutely insane and I swear that they follow me around the whole course.

... Pretty unique bird. They of course are crazy fast and kinda cute. Til you see one with a lizard in their mouth just before they bash it bloody on a rock with extreme violence. Reminder that nature doesn't play around. But most of them know me on my course because I feed them organic nuts and fruit. Probably about 15 of them.

Roadrunners are about all that I saw (other than some really small lizards) when I played golf in and around Phoenix. I didn’t see many roadrunners around Tucson, but I saw a lot of snakes and a few scorpions there.

... The desert is just overflowing with wildlife. This time of year and late in the day you usually see some coyotes resting under a tree in the shade. I finally saw my 3rd snake last round (none poisonous) after being out here 4 years and still haven't seen a scorpion. But just tons of rabbits, quail, hawks, cowbirds, squirrels, prairie dogs that you see on almost every hole if you look. Not on my course but I have seen several bobcats sauntering on the edge of a hole or resting under a tree and thankfully I haven't seen a javalina.

... I was out here over a year and saw them running and they were kinda fast but not cartoonish fast. Then finally I saw a coyote chase one and it sprinted full speed across the fairway and it was very cartoonish fast!!! Pretty rare to see them running at full speed.
