I never saw a live roadrunner before. I'll have to come for a visit someday. 

Tom, highly recommend Absorbine Jr for the gnat problem.  Apply to back of ears, back of neck, etc.  You'll get 2 minutes of a surface tingling feeling, but in my experience this is gold for deterring gnats.

I've tried the deep woods off, cutter, and others. I was going to order something else last night but after reading the fine print it only lasts for 45 minutes. That's a no go.

I played a beautiful, tight, tricky course at Fall Creek Falls today and gave the Cobra's a good workout. I shot 61/56 for a 117. 

It doesn't sound too good on the surface, but it gave me a good measuring stick for where my game is at the moment and hopefully something to look back on once I improve. 

I was hitting the ball amazingly well at the range before the round, sending balls high and straight toward my targets. I started our great on the opening hole, a par 5 that plays 511 yards and came away with a bogey.

Then the wheels fell off for the next 3 holes where I managed to go +5, +2, and +6 and go to +14 after 4. I had a lot of difficulties out of the sand, I just don't got out of it enough to know how to play it. I had one hole I got out in one try and the rest of the time it took a minimum of 2 shots. 

I settled down after that, going +11 on the next 5. 

The back 9 started out much of the same with another bogey on the 540 yard 10th. I followed that up with a +4 on the par 4 11th hole. After that, I didn't play spectacularly but did play a bit more solid. 

The highlight of my day came on the 125 yard par 3 16th. I hit 8 iron and ended up over the flag by 35-40 feet. I then proceeded to make the 2 putts for my only par of the day. 

 

So, how did the clubs do?

Driver was solid, I just got into some places I had to recover from and had a case of slices for about 2 holes that got to me mentally. Most of the time it was pretty long and I was pulling it just a tad.

Fairways and hybrids were awesome! I think every time I pulled one of these they were money with the exception of the 4 hybrid I got off the tee on the par 4 15th. It's a more severe dogleg left than it appears in the screenshot from the Golfshot app.

Here's what it looked like from my point of view.

I topped the hybrid to about where you see the cart path turn back left and had to punch a 7 iron from some hardpan. 

I probably should have tried taking on the trees, but wanted to play conservatively and not lose a ball. 

Irons were good, I'm seeing a bit more distance out of them and still need some work getting used to my new yardages. I also need to not try to freaking kill the ball and keep the tension out of my swing. Like I said, I was taking smooth, relaxed settings on the range and watching them soar. 

Wedges were pretty good with the exception of when I was in the bunkers. I suck at bunker play and that in no way, shape, form, or fashion should reflect on the performance of the Snakebite wedges. I will say the greens were firm and fast, so I wasn't seeing a lot of real spinny action out of them. 

The putter was serviceable, I didn't count putts today but I still don't have the crazy confidence out of it I usually do. I need a new grip, the Agera came with a SuperStroke 1.0 instead of the 2.0 that was listed on the website and I just don't like a small grip. I want to like this putter, but right now it's not wowing me.

I didn't play my best today but it was a beautiful day to be out with some friends and I had a blast playing a course I've never played before. Even saw a little wildlife.

Plus the course was beautiful!

It was absolutely gorgeous out there and made the round so much more enjoyable getting to take in the sights. We are definitely planning on going back there. 

The clubs are performing really good so far! I still need to get used to the lighter shafts in my irons and trust my swing to do its job.

It's getting better, I've only got 36 holes in so far and time will take care of it.

I can't wait until yours show up, I'm really rooting for everyone in this challenge to improve.
