Great job with the unboxing @CFreddie! Man, those Forged Tec irons are sweet looking clubs! It sounds like you hit them pretty good today at the range and hopefully you'll get to spend some time with the wedges before long.

The SIK face is extremely nice and like you, I feel it puts a good roll on the ball. Honestly, it almost feels like it grips the ball for a nano second before sending it toward the hole. I really like the way it feels. 

I'm looking forward to hearing how they perform on the course for you.

... Couldn't agree more. Great job CFreddie! Pictures and descriptions were as good as it gets ... but unfortunately you can't just look at them and will have to actually play them in competition.

I see how it is! Leaving me out of a road trip. Do you think this old guy can't hang and party all the way out there? Well maybe your right on that part. You could have had almost a free ride. Business trip you know!

Lol my apologies, @Tom the Golf Nut! You coordinating a coast to coast road trip would have been much smarter! I was too short sighted in my geographical logic!

 I have so many frequent flier miles we could have flown out pick up the clubs and played a round or two out there. I still would have been home in time for Pinehurst next weekend!

... Finally switching to The Raven, my Phoenix summer course today where all my competitive rounds will be played. Lying in bed I played it in my head last night and the Cobra's will be interesting providing some options I didn't have in the past on two long par 4's and particularly several par 5's where the 7 wood could be ideal. In the past I found myself between my 5 wood and my 4 hybrid.

... When I first came out here and played Raven after several recommendations I wondered why anyone would play there. Anti Desert course that is completely tree lined blocking and views of the mountains. No Saguaro cactus, no sandy desert areas and honestly Jerry, it could be NC or even a pine lined Illinois course. Then the temps hit 105* - 115* and the desert courses provided little to no shade at all and I finally understood the allure of Raven. Been there 3 summers now and love the course as well as making me appreciate true desert golf when I start playing those courses again in the fall.

Seems like an idle threat Tom, seeing as how I'm fairly certain that Jason and I could scramble and likely still be a distant second playing you!

... "I will take my revenge"?!?!? Ole Tom really is the villain of this challenge. As of now it is 5 of us using The Force against 1 using The Dark Side.

... And evidently I am right there with Noble and Freddie as my index ballooned to an 11.2 and has been listed that way for almost 3 weeks now so too late for any of you to accuse me of "accidentally" adding a 1 to 1.2   I just hope my 11.2 index doesn't go to 21.2 playing a new course for the summer.
