I'm currently gaming a Callaway bag I got for fathers day last year. The bag is great with more than enough storage for everything you could possibly want. 20220619_202641.jpg.7c0732528bc59b613e97e5c382ae7542.jpg

My bag of choice is a Vice cart bag. Listed for $279, I got it for $125 when Walmart was rearranging their store and put it in front of a display sign with $124.88 on it. They agreed to sell it for that price, then quickly changed it to $279. I really like the vast number of pockets it has. BTW, two weeks later they had one in the clearance aisle for $85. My wife called me so I picked it up as well. Now I have a backup!

I made the swap to walking this year as well. I played a few rounds in February, and walked the 9 hole course with that bag. They are a beast at best to carry, BUT they fit flawlessly ona sun mountain speed cart V1 so now it's no problem 😁

I have had the Ping DLX bag since 2019. It's the best cart bag I have ever had. Its getting pretty beat up form travel and constant play but the pouches and storage room si the most user friendly I have had. My wife ahs teh Sun Mountain C130 and if I had not gotten the Ping, that would be my choice. She got camo and she loves it.

Also have the PING DLX Cart bag, White and Black, is excellent. I use it on my push cart, is an excellent all around back, cleans up easily but looks great, dividers and has traveled well.

Just got settled into the Vessel Players 4 stand bag, coming out of the Players 3.

They finally listened to the customer and made the club pockets fully encapsulated so your grips don't stick to eachother on the way out/in. This is now the most perfect bag ever built.

Glad I found this thread, I’ve been rocking a Callaway Chev stand bag for the past few years. It was the first bag I bought after really getting into golf. I definitely like the bag but it could be better. The legs recently broke and I’m in the market for a new one. I’m considering a vintage bag from the 90s I think that would be cool and fit my style. But I’m also thinking it might functionally be better if I had a new bag. Maybe something premium like a tour stand bag. I mostly use a push cart or carry my bag so I like the size and weight of a stand bag.

Things I like about my current bag:

5 way divider top Simple set up I don’t need a 14 way divider

cooler pocket to keep drinks cold

Ball compartment holds a box+ of balls for those bad days.

Dislikes:

Not a lot of extra space for coat, towels, snacks etc
The quality of the bag, I’ve only owned the thing for a few years never been hard on it and now it’s broken 😞

Things I’m looking for:

To spend around $300

magnetic ball pouch would be cool

velvet top is a nice touch

A little extra room for snacks!

5-7 way divider top

I like the aesthetic of the “tour” bags

Any recommendations would help Thanks

After close consideration and being in the right place at the right time I’ve settled with my new vessel VLX stand bag.

This thing is awesome! I absolutely love the material on the outside it’s like a marine leather it really looks sharp! It has pretty much everything I was looking for. the built quality is amazing and it’s super lightweight.

The only thing I HATE!

The 7 inch opening. Now I understand that vessel sells other models with larger openings, but I had a good deal on this bag I couldn’t pass up. Tbh a 7x7 opening is pretty much the smallest playable opening on a golf bag. I get that vessel markets this bag as the ultimate carry bag, and it really performs in the aspect it is ergonomic, lightweight, and comfortable. But for someone who uses midsize grips and has 4 clubs with head covers it’s super annoying when atleast once per hole I have to adjust my clubs for all of them to fit nicely.

In the end I’m happy with my purchase it’s an amazing bag, just has size issues like the best of us!

I use a Datrek Lite Rider Pro bag like this one.

image.png.6ba9c821a4800c4fff15291feec8a288.png

I first started using Datrek bags because almost all of them have the individual full length club dividers. I liked them so well that I started selling them in my custom club shop. I sold them at discount to those who bought clubs from me and at a slight mark up to anyone.

I use the ping Traverse Camo Cart bag. Being in the military I love the pattern, you can also unzip the cooler pocket completely and have anything you want embroidered on it if you have a local place to do it. It has individual club slots which I also love, keeps everything separated nicely. The pockets on the side are quite large, I usually keep my shoes in one side and towels and a rain jacket in the other side. Plenty of room in this bag for whatever you want to bring out on the course. Weight doesn't matter too much since its a cart bag, drive the golf cart to your car and put it on. 😁

Cool looking forward to seeing it since I am a bag ho. How things change. Since my last post in this thread I went back to my old school Jones non stand. Got tired of the Titleist Mini Staff. As SOP for me I carry little stuff like 6 balls, tees. ball marker and divot tool, 5 gloves and a rangefinder. Like others have said if I carry a bigger bag stuff seems to accumulate. I noticed the Titleist had gotten heavy and I had like 15 balls I had found on the course in the bottom pocket. With the Jones if I find balls I throw them into the cart basket and into my shag bag afterwards. Most of the guys in my league carry those cart bags and have them stuffed. One of my anal things is I can not stand for my bag being crowded in. So I switched to the Jones. I also have a bid in on Flea Bay on a used Jones Classic Stand bag .

I use an old Ping Tour bag. I need a heavy bag on my MGI electric cart for balance.

Played golf for over 50 years until my health and business calendar reduced my time to less then 5 rounds a year. Then 4 years ago I retired, changed my diet and lifestyle, lost 100 pounds and got back on the course. Its been a struggle but things are getting better.

I have a navy Ping hoofer stand bag. Though as I've switched to a push cart, I could actually use something a little bigger for storage options and not having the legs in the way when I load up. But I'm not going to switch just to do it. I'll stay with the Ping till it's pretty old. I got close to 15 years out of my last bag

I have always used a cart bag, usually 14 way. A few years back, went to a garage sale down the street from the house, and was looking at a bag with dome old clubs, and a ball retriever. I pulled out the retriever, and the old guy  says, "take the bag and everything, I dont play anymore" before I could ask how much he wanted for the retriever. It's a Bennington, and I looked them up on Google. Their cheapest bag is around $300, and the one I have is not on their site anymore. Nice bag, a little heavy, but if I do walk, I use a pull cart. Otherwise I ride. 14 way top, so room for the retriever, with full dividers, as it has a side putter tube. Good storage, with a lined valuables pocket. Really well made bag, great zippers, rivet reinforcements all over. Will be using this bag for a lot of years...
