You're welcome! The 20% off is a great deal! I would definitely recommend the fitting, as it's free and pretty simple. I know if I were spending that kind of money on a putter, I'd want to make sure my specs were correct.

Also, if you have Facebook there is a LAB group with active sellers and you can also keep an eye on their LAB Outlet for discounted putters.

The wife and I went up this evening and played 9 holes, and for whatever reason my putting just felt off. Here’s what the evening looked like:  

• 26’ - 2 putt - missed short 
• 18’ - 2 putt - missed right/long
• 3’ - 1 putt
• 6’ - 1 putt
• 8’ - 1 putt
• 23’ - 2 putt - missed short
• 12’ - 2 putt - missed left
• 18’ - 2 putt - missed short
• Gimme chip

None of my two putts even had a chance on the first putt, it was not a good night on the dance floor.

I totally get your frustration, especially on leaving them short, but... Not one of your 2-putts was a length that would be  expected to be a make. I have to remind myself of this sometimes, especially when I make everything inside 10' all day.

Alright the DF2.1 has its final trials this weekend. 72 holes planned starting tomorrow 7:30 I'm ready to get dialed in and see results. Wish me luck and send all the good vibes.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I just need to change my mindset a little bit. I think it was the two putts that were throwing me off, couldn't get the speed right, therefore overshadowing the few good putts I did make.

I think the problem is the Link is making me too confident

Best I’ve ever owned, hands down!
 

Also, I’ve developed this weird habit with the Link where every time I “sheath” it, instead of closing it with my hand, I kinda spin/whip the putter around quickly and it snaps close. That is one of many reasons why I’ll never switch covers

I agree with @TSauer it is the highest quality headcover I have ever owned. It's has a nice supple leather exterior and pillow soft interior to protect the putter (It's true purpose). I have in no means babied it and although I'll go more indepth in the review it's held up extremely well.

I received my LAB MEZZ.1 MAX just a few days ago and I agree the headcover is outstanding! I haven't been able to play a round yet, so for now it is getting some time on my office floor "putting green" and testing the Sugar golf balls! I found out that I apparently leave the club face open at address and when my LAB stays the same club face angle the entire stroke then I miss right. Really looking forward to getting out on the course and putting green tomorrow!

Apparently the 20% off didn't work for the Link1 but that's okay. I am liking the look of outlet site for when I am ready. I think my only question is would a grip change effect the lie angle balance on the Link1? I would think not but good to know 100% as I would plan on a different grip. Probably the Garsen Max. Thanks for offering to ask on the call.

Ahh, that's a bummer! I think you're right though, the grip shouldn't affect it. In fact, I see so many people recommending the Garsen Max for the Link like you mentioned, as well as the Garsen Quad.

That orange color looks very nice and the matching head over is a nice touch too! How do you like the color? It looks like the shaft angles out of the grip slightly. Is that an optical illusion or were you fit for that?

That's part of the selling point of the DF and the Mezz line - they have a built-in forward-press.  The shaft comes out of the head at a slight angle forward, and the grip (their proprietary "Press Grip") allows the shaft to come in at an angle all the way through the tip of the grip, allowing the grip (and therefore your hands) to be straight up and down, while the shaft leans - as someone who had never "pressed" the club before putting, I find this to be an incredible feature, as all I have to do is set the putter behind the ball and the shaft is automatically "pressed", enhancing the roll of the ball.

Quality and looks are awesome, and second to none. I know it’s only a couple of months old but no fading of the thread yet. Counting range pre-round and bar post-round that’s 200 hour in the sun. Add to that I often take my clubs with me when I leave in the mornings, and it sits in the truck all day. It was getting a bit dirty so I wiped it with a damp towel.

Thanks, I just listened to it. Sounds like a different grip could have some effect on the balance. I think if I wanted to do a Garson Max it would be better to do the 15 in as it is 85 grams its closer to the 95 grams their grip is, put a counter weight in the shaft, or just have to send it back in to get checked.

between your test and Sam's comments on the call I'm going to have to send in a video fitting "just to see" what link.1 would be recommended for me.  I don't plan on finding some time to go roll one at the PGASS this weekend either... just to see what they're all about.  No, that's not going to happen at all.

I have the Lab DF 2.1 and love it. Setup is a little different being forward shaft lean is built into the grip, but starts off on line.

If you want it perfectly balanced you should send it back.  That said, Sam clarified on the call that while it's out of balance according to their tolerances (which he said were quite stringent) its only noticeable to some people and is still lower torque than anything else on the market.  I've made some adjustments to my Link on the grip side and have not noticed anything that would make me think it works any differently than it did before I swapped the grip and took a 1/2" off the butt end of the shaft.

The Mezz 1 Max looks pretty awesome.  I wish it was a little cheaper and I would buy it right away.  Unfortunately, I don’t know any one who has one, so I can’t try it out.

I think I may have to buy one for 2024…

Definitely get fitted (free) and then keep an eye out on their outlet. Some pretty amazing deals, and they're VERY minorly "non-spec"

• 8’ - 2 putt
• 1’ - 1 putt
• 13’ - 2 putt

My two putts this morning were much closer to dropping than the previous round, which feels good.
 

Side note, I did switch grips and I can’t tell if it’s in my head or what, but sometimes I feel that it’s not aligned and other times I do lol. Think I need a second opinion and to maybe adjust it. #HeadCase

You put two shots within a foot of the cup? That might be more impressive than 13 putts over 9 holes... but it's close

Yeah, my short game was feeling pretty good today, it is usually all over the place. I'm typically not a fan of playing early in the morning as I'm usually still waking up by like hole 3 or so. This morning was different for some odd reason, I kinda surprised myself. But, I'll take it!
