Ok, I emailed the folks at LAB and changed my order from a standard-length putter to the following:

 

 

I've had a lot of success with a broomstick in the past so if this dawg will hunt equal to or I hope better than the old Odyssey I still have, shooting my age before year end will be a done deal. Plus I'll be getting old in a few years (73 now) and it will be easier to practice with a broomstick.  The funny thing is my specs are exactly like Lucas Glover's and the color scheme is the same so hopefully some of his mojo will rub off on me.

Here's the putter and I'm now in are we there yet mode on a delivery date which will most likely be around the end of November. 

Bill, you're going to love that thing! I love both of my L.A.B. putters and can't see myself ever playing anything else.

I got jealous that @ole gray was having so much fun burning money, I had to join in:

 

 

Emailed support and they said if I was happy with my DF specs then I should just order a Link in the same specs. Just wanted something different to look at, and my bday/christmas is coming up so ... merry birthmas to me?

Being 100% honest, I'll probably never put the DF back in the bag unless something drastic happens while playing the Link. Been gaming the DF since late 2020 and I just need a change of scenery. Not like anyone ever bought a DF because they loved how it looked, let's be honest. At the time, it was the only thing they offered, and it was a wedding gift from the wife aka she said "yeah go head buy it"

Haha. I guess I'm one of the odd ones then because I love mine. But then again my favorite putter was a ping doc17 center shaft. The big half moon putter....  but I definitely understand the keeping the wife happy

I'm not unhappy with my DF, but I got itches that need scratchin. Also don't have to worry about those times where my DF doesn't fit between my ball and the fringe of the green anymore (I hope).

I hear ya. I keep looking at drivers lately and haven't had mine all that long.

I’ve had a custom Mezz.1 Max since the spring. But back then, our greens were absolutely horrendous (literally, almost lost) due to extensive winterkill. My putting was awful, wasn’t the Max’s fault at all as I just couldn’t adjust to the terrible greens. Before I lost confidence in the putter, with which I had no history, I shelved it for my old reliable 2.1. Putting was still bad on the terrible greens but that putter long earned my trust, a trust that the poor streak at the time couldn’t affect.

Long story longer, the greens recovered into the summer, I started putting very well with the 2.1. Got injured in July, came back in early September to freakin’ excellent greens. Putting has been mostly a strength ever since.

So… I have this hot streak going. Averaging a score of 75.7 over my previous 20 rounds, barely over 76 for the last 30 rounds. And all with the 2.1.

Yet, there is that (crazy expensive, LOL) Mezz.1 Max staring at me from the corner. I know (and it knows, too) that I never did give it a fair chance on really good greens. But then there’s my streak of very good play (for me) to consider, where the 2.1 has taken the ride the entire way.

What should I do? Decisions, decisions…

Oh, and the Max can’t scoop up balls during practice. Bummer for this bad back golfer.

Should say on their site but last I checked and when I ordered mine, it was 5-6 weeks.

I'll be putting with my old Odyssey Rossie Broomstick with the double bend shaft which will get me back in the broomstick mode however it will be far from how the LAB broom is set up with center shaft and all.   Oh well, I guess all of us who have to wait on our new arrivals will survive.

To say I'm stoked to get the new LAB Mezz Max Broomstick in my bag is an understatement.  In the last three rounds I've had only two three-putts with the old Odyssey Broomstick I'm bagging until the new putter arrives.  I was averaging five three putts per round with my regular length putter. Although I'm putting better, especially on the putts within five feet range I can tell the Odyssey wants to wobble around while taking it back.

Love this! I didn't even know this was an option. I hope they release more custom headcovers for the LAB, because I'll never be able to sacrifice the quality and switch to something else.

It might be brand new.  Got an email about it yesterday and pulled the trigger.

@Syks7 and @TSauer I did notice that headcover when I built my custom Link.1 one of the 372 times I've done so since reading these reviews.... 

 

It's hard to go against the USA cover if I have an option when I inevitably pull the trigger.

Scotty should take some notes if we are being totally honest. Been loving the Scotty, no reason to ever replace it in the bag for a looooooooong time. But DAMN, does that Link look good.

Yes sir! I mentioned that exact thing in my write-up. If people are paying extra for a premium putter, they deserve a premium headcover. I despise the velcro headcovers that Scotty's comes with, or any velcro cover for that matter . Also, the headcover for their Phantom X is F-Tier.

The one I got with the Super Select Newport is nice looking, but I don't love the vinyl like material. MUCH prefer leather. Also despise the velcro and I actually got delivered today some magnet patches with velcro on the back to modfiy it to a magnet closure.
