Hi Robyn!! Thanks so much for the question! With over 13,000(!!) applicants, we had our work cut out for us to narrow the field down. 

The Mod team has tried our best to be super transparent as to how the selection process works, including posting a link to a thread at the top of every testing opportunity stating exactly the criteria for becoming a tester. 

First and foremost, be a member of the forum, have a profile picture, and be involved! We are DESPERATELY trying to get more women involved. Right now, we have a handful of very involved, active women members, but we're VERY interested in growing that number. 

The reality is, however, that 90+% of the people (male and female) that sign up for testing only ever post inn that thread, asking to be a tester. 

It's hard for us as a Mod Team to feel that the Company offering the test to our members can absolutely trust a brand new member with no posts to responsibly test a piece of equipment worth several hundred dollars (more, in some cases). 

So we vet every applicant to make sure they meet our testing criteria.  We have several women involved in other tests currently running, and even have some special opportunities for women-only tests in the future. However, the same criteria still still be in place, so now's the best time to get involved!!

Congrats to the testers. A collective average handicap of 12. It appears lower HCP players looking to improve their putting with this technology and technique won’t get much out of the results. It’s a very poorly designed study from a scientific perspective… best of luck.

I’ve heard great things about lab putters, personally I’m just not a fan of how they look.  I know that’s a stupid reason, but you’ve gota love what’s in your bag.

Good luck all! Get as much data as possible is my only recommendation. Putter is a tough analysis. Videos too help a ton! Especially if this thing changes your path for the good!

Can't wait to see the reviews on these!  The LINK.1 has me interested from a visual design perspective and the DF2.1 model I was able to putt with felt a lot better than I was expecting.

Handicap is only part of the story and selection process. Player strengths, weaknesses, availability, activity, previous Tests, Location and so much more are taken into consideration. 

Someone can be a 8, but also be a bad putter but just good in other areas. 

Be sure to go to the want to be a tester thread to learn more about how the selection process is done.

Congrats y'all! I didn't sign up for this one cause I'm still getting used to a new Odyssey and it needs some time and faithful devotion to treat me right.

But that doesn't mean I won't be interested in the results! Maybe the honeymoon phase will fade away and the relationship becomes toxic and it'll be time to look for a putter that's more forgiving

Thanks for your explanation and opinion about golf but unfortunately I am geared in a completely different way then you and the average 12 HCP golfers group you’ve selected… so basically I am not interested in a demographic that doesn’t represent ME nor other lower HCP competitive golfers… credibility and respecting science principles is huge to me… take care and best of luck

I'm guessing you missed last year's test of the L.A.B. putters where there were plenty of low handicappers selected, at least one or two with a lower handicap than yourself. This just happened to be the case that there were mid handicappers selected this time around. I'm hovering around 5 and have been lower and I game one of these and will be there to provide any feedback you may be after as well as others on the forum that have experience.
