PURE Grips Review

Research

I called up my friend and talked to him about Star Vs PURE grips, I found out that they are made by the same manufacture and with the same materials so they should feel pretty much identical. P2 Wrap = Star Wrap (http://www.stargrip.com/cgi-bin/MensGrip.exe) Pure Pro = Star Sidewinder (http://www.stargrip.com/cgi-bin/SidewinderGrip.exe).

For the record, Star Grips and PURE Grips are not made by the same manufacturer.

From Wes Brasher, the President and CEO of PURE, in response to a member of a different forum mentioning the same thing:

We are not associated with Star Grip in any way, but they are also located in Phoenix. Our rubber formula is our own proprietary design, as is all of our tooling. We manufacture our grips in our plant with our machines and our process.

Thanks.

Wes

Just FYI.....

My buddy has always had success blowing of my new decades, I wouldn't worry at all they seem to come off easy.

Hmm, I was given a sample Pure Tour Wrap. Gonna have to throw it on something and do some testing now cause it sounds like it'll be right up my alley.

Have any MOMs gone with the Old School Wraps? I went with those and if they haven't been reviewed I'd love to post my thoughts when I get them on.

  • 1 month later...

So after a slight delay (6 months, 20 days...), I've updated the initial post with part 1b, going over installation.

I'm going to the range tomorrow and will definitely be giving these grips a try along with the new shaft in my wedges. I have to say, anyone who doesn't install grips themselves is losing so much of the experience of these grips, I don't think I've ever had so much fun installing a grip :D.
