Bag Boy Nitron Cart - 2023 Forum Review

That thing is slick and looks really well built. Looking forward to seeing all the reviews. It may have moved up the list a bunch when mine needs replacing.

The Nitron is so easy to use. It opens and closes with ease and it’s balanced and sturdy on the course.

Unboxing and initial impressions are coming later today/tonight. But I have to share when my son saw me open the cart after taking it out of the trunk his first words were, "Whoa, do that again". LOL

I've been out for 72 holes with the Nitron so far, and I'm generally really enjoying my experience!

The auto opening/closing function is really slick. I like that the assisted open/close mechanism also helps hold the cart collapsed while moving into and out of my trunk. I used to have to hold my old cart shut while moving it around since there was nothing stopping it from opening.

The opening power is plenty strong, so strong that I have to be careful not to eject the contents of the handle storage bin (found golf balls, generally) onto the parking lot as the cart pops open.

The wheels glide smoothly. As I mentioned in my unboxing, the whole cart feels very substantial and has some weight to it. It is not flimsy in the least bit. There's very little to no looseness or flex in the frame or handle while traversing my course.

Couple of other thoughts, not all positive:

• Out of the box my cart pulls to the right. I need to look at the manual and adjust the front wheel to fix this.
• Placing the drink holder on top of the cart makes me drink more water than with my previous cart, but...
• Moving the storage basket underneath the handle is meh. I like the top storage basket of my CaddyTek way more.
• How did I live without the push cart mitten accessory? Simply awesome for chilly mornings.
• The hand brake seems to not like cold weather. On Tuesday morning it was in the low 40s when I teed off. I could not get the hand brake to fully engage as the pin that inserts into the wheel would not extend far enough. I thought it was just needing adjustment, but I have not experienced that again since the weather has now warmed into the 50s in the mornings.

I was curious how the front wheel was going to be since it came with the adjustment tool (thought it was going to be for assembly).

Or as my son said when I opened it up in front of him, "Whoa, do that again"! About to head out for my league night and my second time on a course. I will be interested to see how the selected testers feel about this cart.  I have had mine for the last year now and love it, had a caddytek before but really was intrigued by the top lock system.  I roll with the bagboy chiller bag that sits nicely into the cart.  The opening and closing of the cart is really nice compared to my old caddytek, rolls nice and the brake function is fabulous.  The only thing that I have not liked is the location of the cup holder, for my bag setup it is right in the way of the putter well....  Other then that though the phone lock is nice and the large storage bag is great.  Looking forward to see what you guys think.....Enjoy!!

This is my chief complaint too. It fits smaller drinks ok but if you get a big gulp or something it's a bit awkward. I also noticed that it' a bit "too" balanced. Since the drink situation is not ideal, I tried bringing a small water jug. With heavier bags, it's fine. With a carry bag, a half gallon jug will sometimes cause the cart to tip back if attached near the handle of the cart.

Initial impression is up:

Curious if the other testers are seeing some in-stability on slight hills, when walking horizontally with the slope is the cart top heavy (not sure if its just my bag or that the cart is not very bottom heavy maybe?) but I definitely feel to top tipping as well as when applying the brake the cart likes to transition and slide to be in a the vertical position compared to horizontal. 

Minor thing but is new to me will get it on video at some point.

My initial impressions are also posted. I haven't had any issues with stability yet, even on sidehills. I do plan to be more intentional about stopping the cart in bad positions the next time out just to see how it manages. I will share what I find here and in my main post.

Top-heaviness is actually one of the things I was worried about when I first saw the cart. The bag does sit up pretty high in the upper supports. I have not had the same exact experience as you, but depending on your bag I could see this perhaps causing some issues.

I've really been enjoying the hand brake and have not had a reoccurrence of the issue I mentioned in my initial impressions - the pin has engaged quickly and easily.

I also really like that the front wheel is "ready to go" as soon as the cart unfolds. My previous CaddyTek required the front wheel to be moved in order to fold and unfold the cart.

I have noticed the top bag supports tend to squish the bag, making the clubs on the bottom left and right of my bag tougher to pull out. I suspect this has more to do with the design of my Sun Mountain Sync bag than the cart, and I'm guessing a bag with Top-Lok technology would not have the same issues. That being said, I've been very happy with how the Sync has performed on the cart, and I would not say having a Top-Lok bag is at all a requirement for this cart.

I too am a big fan of not having to manually unfold the front wheel to get it open. Big time saver and also just extremely convenient. Not that I consider myself old, but not having to bend over is major bonus. 
 

I’ve also noticed the clamps tend to squish my bag as I strap it in. I’m sure this wouldn’t happen with a bag with the TopLock feature but the squish doesn’t seem to hinder my ability to take out clubs or harm the bag. Will have to see whether the constant rubbing and squishing does in fact harm the bag with long term use. I did have to take the umbrella off the bag to get it to clamp properly.

Yes lock me in as well for you don’t need a top lock style bag. I actually played this morning and didn’t have the bag resting on the bottom base and it still didn’t move. I didn’t notice for a few holes until the front wheel looked like it was misaligned but it was my bag not resting properly.

Also did well holding 2 bags so top heaviness is not really an issue I just didn’t have any awkward hills today:

Agreed. As I will discuss more fully in my first round post later today/tomorrow, the cup holder does not fit my 32 oz insulated water bottle, unfortunately. One of the very few nits I have so far.

I have experienced a some top-heaviness issues. In fact, on 11 in my first round I stopped on an incline in which I thought the cart was fine. As I turned to my ball it actually fell over backwards. Lesson learned….

My Sun Mountain 2.5+ fits nicely between the bag supports, but it is a thinner bag.

Coffee mug and smaller works. Highly recommend if you like that water bottle (looks similar to mine) just putting it in the underneath storage bag. It’s a lot roomier than I thought.

That's exactly what I did! I am looking to buy a skinnier alternative that will fit.

Interesting find tonight while trying to adjust the front wheel. As I mentioned in a past post, my cart pulls slightly to the right, especially when rolling downhill. Bag Boy included a small Allen wrench to adjust the front wheel along with the assembly instructions.

Simple enough, right? Turn the Allen screw counterclockwise to fix a cart that pulls to the right. Well, that's all fine, except when I looked down at the front fork, there was no Allen screw and only an 8mm locking nut.

I tried to adjust this but no neither direction seemed to change the tracking of the front wheel.

Does everyone else have this nut or do the other testers have the supposed Allen screw? I didn't pull off the front wheel, but do I have this installed backward?

I will take a look at mine when I get home as well. Mine isn’t pulling and I too got the Allen wrench.

I think I figured it out. First you need to tip the cart back on the handle. 

Then you will see a hole on the left side and there is an allen bolt inside.
