Got my 2nd full round in Michigan in the books today. Samer course I played last week, again it was packed and played very slow. The group in front of me were younger, late 20's early 30's at best, and appeared to be newer to the game.

 

They played "best-ball" with pairs of themselves, and I was able to get around them at the turn, as they stopped into the club house, and I just continued to the tenth tee.

 

Played well, shot 79 total, with a 39 and a birdie on the front, and 40 with another birdie on the par 4 18th to keep myself under 80.

 

The pictures below are of the first birdie hole, hit driver and then Gap wedge and made the putt.

 

Best shot of the day was the putt for birdie on the 18th. Hole played 530 yards, I hit driver, 6 iron, and Gap wedge to about 20 feet left of the hole. Made the right to left breaking putt, although when I was over that shot, I didn't think about making it, just didn't want to leave it short.

 

Plan to play again tomorrow afternoon at another course that I have played previously, Stony Creek Golf Course.

Great day for golf with my son. Posted a net -1 and barely held on to beat him against his net +1. If he didn’t have his melt down on holes 3-6 he would have torn me a new one for sure.  As it stands, I’m undefeated this season against him. And yes, I’m rubbing it in every chance I get. LOL

One of the most solid rounds of golf in a while. Everything worked very well today. Wind blew the ball off track 3 times that I wasn’t able to recover. 1 bogey, 2 doubles, and a birdie. And they were on the easy holes. 
Just 1 real birdie and 10 net birdies. 31 putts but most of my “birdie putts” were 30+ feet.

Second round of the day. Started really well, then the course turned into a zoo with 5 different groups on a single hole consistently. It was the biggest gongshow I've ever seen on a golf course. There was some startup local tour having their weekly stop there and it was like watching Caddy Shack in real life everyone was so out of this world bizzare that you couldn't focus on your game. ,"Tour" players driving power carts with your wife, having a caddie pushing your bag, shitting on the floor of the bathroom, golf balls hitting cars, the concession lady had a pirate eyepatch, drunks driving carts into trees, homeless people crossing the course to get to the highway, homeowners driving at you while you hit up the fairway. It was just ******.

Really rough day on the course. They can't all be great rounds and we have to keep that in mind. Slow play never lends to good rounds for me, coupled with snap hook syndrome off the tees just had me in a funk. Managed to end the round with a par 5 birdie but have to remind myself that I'm not a robot, no matter how much my ex-wife thinks it so.

This was my best round of the season and triggered an Exceptional Score adjustment of -1 to my handicap! Found the driver and put myself in good position with short irons and wedges into a lot of greens, left a lot of room to improve with my approaches but bailed myself out with the short game.

Tallied my score after 15 which was a mistake, as I realized I had a good shot of breaking 80 for the first time and proceeded to melt down. Very encouraging after taking lessons and practicing this offseason though. My goals of single digits handicap and breaking 80 this season seem viable.

Started on back nine. Beautiful day. Lovely course. Super slow group ahead of us causing round o be 6 hours. Think Cantly but a worse player. Was +1 through the first five. Then my driver head spun and can no longer screw into the adapter. So had to play the round with no driver the rest of the way. After that was curtains. 37 putts. Left a lot short. 9 overall penalty strokes (5 due to my 4w off the tee). Some lucky breaks (going through trees or lucky bounces) and some terrible ones (flier from a ball in a divot in the middle of the fairway from 100 out, lead to an 8 due to an unplayable and then no room to pitch. Great group of guys to play with. 10 strokes better than my first tournament last year. Also I learned I am capable of some damn good golf.
