I have them stored in the garage that doesn't see too extreme of temperatures. I have a dozen brand new Pro V1's that may be 3 years old and fortunate for me my golf game has improved and I have been maybe losing 1 ball a round. Trying to go through my inventory to get to these Pro V's lol. For some reason I recall that stored balls really retained their oomph for up to 5 years. As long as temp extremes were not involved. After that efficiency loss was something like 2-3% per year. At that rate I don't really think I'd notice any degradation until 15 years. Seem to have fallen off the map. - I see a ton of Adams ads everywhere and looks like they are doing a massive social media push. Do you think their lineup will continue to be a simpler Idea line or will they expand their lineup in future years. - how many coffees will be drank during the Golf Ball test this year? dinomack99
Since custom fitting is hot, I'd like to understand what % of drivers are custom fit vs. irons. vs. wedges vs. putters. I've never been custom fit for wedges or putter, but I'm thinking about the putter and if a proper fitting could shave a few strokes off. Also, can a fitter take your existing putter, and bend loft, etc. to make it a better fit, or would you need a whole new putter? We are headed into prime golfing season, but it is hot as all hell out there. Do we have any umbrella MW or could you make any good recommendations in that area? Same thing for Water Bottles/holders. For us walkers is there a best combination you know of? 2. The new ExPutt simulator, heard much on that? Good Bad or otherwise? 3. If you had to pick one offseason training tool (think limited space so no simulators) what would they be for a) Putting, b) Full swings/technique and c) Chipping? dinomack99
I think I just built a freight train of a driver. While distance is nice, if I can hit consistent 250-260 yard drives, I will be in very good shape. I've been tinkering around with my PXG Gen 5 driver and slapped a 17.5 gm weight in the back port, and two 5 gm weights in the heel and toe. It felt sooo stable through impact with a spin around 2,500 or so (which isn't too bad). It felt heavy, but I was still swinging it 98-101 mph. Why don't more manufacturers do this? Is the Ping G430 so forgiving just because they have the most weight at the back? Radius? FallenSaber
How do golf balls that come from companies such as LostGolfBalls.com compare to new golf balls? I think its safe to assume that even the Mint condition ProV1 at a $39.99 price point won't compare well to new ProV1s but what about a new set of the Maxfli Tour line at that price point? Duffer_E
I think we can all agree that the Titleist Pro V1 is the Holy Grail of golf balls, the standard by which all other golf balls are measured. My question is this: are Titleist golf balls the standard across all types of balls, i.e. surlyn cover offerings, 2-piece, 3-piece, 4-piece(?), etc. or is there a different brand that is better outside of the "Tour Level" ball category? AvgGolferinPA
This is probably a little out there, but... Has anyone ever compared performance of clubs on off center impact? I'm curious how performance; distance, trajectory off-line, side spin etc, fall off when people like me miss the sweet spot. Probably could only do this with an Iron Byron machine to be consistent. Like 10 shots consistent in the sweet spot. 10 shots out near the toe. 10 shots near the hosel. Maybe 10 shots thin. And see how different club heads perform. I watched Rick Shiels bring back some of the most iconic drivers of the last 30 years and the results were exactly what I suspected!! The gains were extremely minimal but in all fairness to the manufacturer when the PGA set forth the COR limits etc they were pretty much maxed out 20 years ago. The one thing they have undoubtedly made gains on is dispersion which I feel is much more important than distance anyway.
