Which is fine if you only play with your buddies, but you won't have a handicap because the course is not rated for the 6000y combo tees.

I have also at one of mine, almost identical circumstances. 6400-5700.  Just Right at 6000 and some!

Afterall, golfers from my play last Saturday, are too lazy to fix a ball mark! I fixed 7 gouges on one hole, 40 for 18 holes.  You think that they are going to calculate a combo tee for themselves to maybe make their play more manageable, NOPE White is where "we are supposed to play from".  Ego will prevent 95% of all golfers from EVER playing from  5249, even though they probably should be.

All 4 of our courses have scorecards like this; not sure where they have them printed.  Grand is a Del Webb active-adult community and I suspect our golf advisory committee and/or men's and women's golf league/clubs may have had some influence on the format.  

I had to chuckle at your last paragraph and in particular the first sentence.  I chose my forum name expressly because of golfers not fixing fairway and green divots is a pet peeve.  I make it a point to fix my own and at least one other... and, sadly, I rarely have a challenge finding them.
