Spiked or Spikeless? What do you Prefer?

Currently have Lovejoy spiked shoes. They're 30 plus years old, came with steel spikes. May be time for a new pair. 

What do you prefer, spiked or spikeless.

I have always used spiked and have never tried spikeless.  Really depends on what you want,  spiked have a little stability and spikeless offer more comfort.  .

I switched to Spikeless when I purchased some Skechers Go Golf Elite v3 about 4years ago and have not looked back. Currently playing in the Payntr 001 F and they are UNBELIEVEABLE comfortable with traction and stability for days. Just used them over the weekend playing 90 holes and zero issue - note: I'm 6'4" w/ a 117mph driver speed, so stability is a MUST for me and the Payntr's performed flawlessly. 

Plus, I feel comfortable walking into the pro-shop, grill, 19th hole, etc... with spikeless and know I won't damage the floors or my shoes.

I have both, and I prefer spiked, especially when walking (which is the majority of my rounds). I do play a lot of courses that tend to retain water and moisture in general, so the spikes work out better for me.

I have contemplated this recently too as I am now needing to replace the same spike on my shoe for the third time. (This on only lasted a range session 18). I just wish the non mental spikes were more durable

I've been spikeless for years and am currently enjoying my couple of pairs of PUMA Alphacat shoes.

I go back and forth but there are surely some solid brands that have some serious traction. G/fore and adidas have some serious non spiked traction.

Original pair of shoes were spiked but currently just spikeless. I am very heavy footed and noticed spiked left a big mark on green and grass in general. Also, the course around here are slippery so didn't have a need. I have a pair of Olukai spikeless and the last Puma ignites for waterproof, both spikeless and very comfortable.

I have both, 1st pair of spikeless were a fail and almost didnt try another was shooting the breeze with the pro at the golf shop and he said stick with the hard bottomed non rubbery spiked models of spikeless for more traction and stability so I checked out a lot of different brands and models and went with Footjoy ProSL Sport which has the hard spikes a very wide base for stability and available in extra wide sizes. IF its super wet I would opt for the FJ tour Alphas but if not the ProSL shoes are my 1st choice.

I have both, but I believe I play better with Spiked.  This may be totally in my head!

But the spineless are great for walking.  So I have more Spikeless in the closet!

I have both and for the most part the spikeless are the most comfortable and I don't slip. When conditions really dry out in August around here, I try to wear spikes though. When the ground is extremely firm that's when I'll start to slip.

I resisted spikeless for decades, and in fairness early attempts at spikeless were not as good as they are today. I still have a pair of spiked FJ DryJoys, but I can't remember when I've worn them. I thought I'd want them for rainy/wet ground days, but that hasn't been necessary either - spikeless golf shoes are that good these days in terms of comfort, traction, stability. But that does not mean they're all the same, shop wisely. You can see what I chose in my sig line (I liked Adidas CodeChaos as well), both are outstanding in all conditions! I have never owned a pair of spiked golf shoes that were as comfortable, I still walk 18 at least once a week, as the spikeless shoes I now own.

I have both. I prefer my spikes for my morning rounds as the ground is much wetter and the spike less for the afternoon rounds. Each has it's pros and cons. Wetter courses I use the spikes and the drier one most certainly I can get away with the spike less.

I used to be a spikes only guy. Looking for every advantage I can get and it just makes sense that spikes are going to give you better grip and traction. But I've made the switch to spikeless. Put up the same scores. Hell, I shot a 76 last night in dress shoes after work. Just nice to be able to leave the house in spikeless play golf, meet up for lunch somewhere after, go see a movie, who knows what the wife has planned. But I'm ready for it.

I just switched to spikeless this year and have not noticed a difference in performance. They are definitely way more comfortable especially to walk in

I have always had spikes. The only pair of spikeless shoes I have are an old pair of FJ teaching shoes. I'm sure new spikeless are good, I just haven't found a pair I like yet.

Current Shoes: PUMA ProAdapt Alphacat Spikeless golf shoes

I have wider toe box so these really fit the bill for me. I'm an avid walker, #PushCartMafia, and these are probably the most comfortable shoes I've worn in my 10 years of golfing. I've never felt like I needed more traction in my swing, and they offer plenty of stability. The rubber sole is comfortable, flexes well and still maintains waterproof design. What really sold me on them was the non-traditional tongue, or lack thereof. These have a "sock-like" interior surrounded by the exterior shell which really helps keep my foot locked it and stable, and with the rubber lug set up, have 0 issues with traction, stability and comfort.
