I'm planning a trip up North in August and was looking to get a golf related gift for the guy who has everything.   With my OnCore VIP membership, there's a discount on PuttView printed yardage books and thought one for his home course that might be a nice gift.  The more I thought about it, the more I started to question if in today's golf world of advanced golf apps, GPS and laser rangefinders, has the printed yardage book lost some of its importance for the average golfer?  Has it been relegated to more of a nostalgic item?  I'd love to hear what MGS forum peeps have to say!

For my situation, I think I'll pick my friend's home course and give it to him more as a golf memento than a functional tool.
