New to The Forum: Just read The Cobra Amp Review

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I am Tony and just wanted to introduce myself. I also wanted to comment on the Cobra Amp Review. First of all, it was a great read. I also wanted to add my two cents. I have hit a bunch of drivers because I am in the market for a new one. (The sound of my Nike has finally made me crazy)Now, in full disclosure I am a big Fowler fan and I do wear orange (and any other color I can find) pants but I really liked the Amp driver. I think that while it might be said that it isn't forgiving, that may not be accurate. I am about a 20 handicap and found that I was pretty consistent with it and felt like it did add some length. Thats just my two cents.

Also, I may get some new wedges soon, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Tony, welcome. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a modern driver from the larger (and some component companies) that wasn't a quality product these days. Aesthetics play a big role now as they're all pretty darn good.

As for wedges, do you want cast or forged? Any particular finish you like? What are you looking for in them? There's a ton of good offerings out there across a lot of price points. I'd say go hit as many as you can find and narrow it down then get fitted.

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.
