Had an opportunity to get an early fitting for the new Titleist irons.

My view:

T200 has massive improvement with the clacky sound compared to 2021 version. Look better, feel better. Someone in the titleist group on facebook posted a nice video of someone bouncing a ball on the back of the head to show the difference, but the original sounded plastic where this sounds like a solid chunk of metal when you bounce a ball on the back. I think it will be a lot more popular this year. Hopefully more people consider it and don’t use the 2021 as a benchmark. I think this will be more suited to the 8-18 handicaps.

T150 marginal improvement on the T150. If you like smaller irons but found the T100S a little unforgiving, this will be a good improvement. The T150 didn’t hit longer for me personally. but they were a little higher. The T150 felt a little softer on centre strikes and mishits. Overall, it just feels a lot more refined than the T100S. It’s marginally thicker but it looks as good, if not better so the added thickness hasn’t impacted that.

The default for both the T200 and T150 seems to be the AMT black but I ended up fitting into a Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105 stiff.

T200 utility was a massive surprise for me. I was expecting to fit into a T200 but the utility was like butter. Long, straight, high. I hit it pure from the first shot. Used it in a HZRDUS Black which was really awesome. I'm now tempted to get a 2 iron and I have never liked 2 irons before this.

Played the MB while the guy was writing up my specs as I haven't hit a blade in a while. No intention of buying. I was impressed, I hit it really well and not as bad as I expected. Shorter than the T150 but heaps of spin. I would love to have done a fitting for it, and in the absence of budgetary constraints from my wife, I would have bought some just to game occasionally. That said, I didn't have the balls to try the longer irons as I am pretty sure it would have killed my self-confidence and my hands from the vibration of a mishit so I'll live under the flawed delusion that I hit blades well and leave it at that.

I fitted into a T150 PW-5 and T200 Utility for the 4. I was tempted to get a T200 on the 5 but in the end, after a couple more hits of the T150 5 iron, I had it dialled so gapping wasn’t an issue,

My conclusion:

If you're playing the T100S and hitting them well, I don't think the change will be big unless you need to be re-fitted for shafts. I would however consider getting a 4 in the utility because they are amazing

If you disliked the sound of T200 but liked the performance, I'd seriously consider looking at them

Mix sets are going to be popular. I think a T150 combined with the T200 works well, but the utility irons are something seriously worth consider. I suspect mixed sets of PW-6 or PW-5 combined with T200's are going to be popular, and the utility T200 will be popular.

Fitting

As usual, get fitted, the difference in shafts were much bigger than I expected, particularly in the spread on mishits. After the session, my fitter would show me the different shafts and what my spread of hits was. The Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105 as an example had a 1mm spread between impact locations on the face (including mishits) while some of the shafts had bigger spreads.

I was fitted as well and ended up getting the 150s w a 200 thrown in for 5 iron and 4 iron.  I currently game 790s but was looking to try something different.  They felt great, especially the short irons.  Lots of launch and and spin.  Having them bent a degree stronger so they will be similar to the 790 specs.  Gaming them will be the true test.

Where were you fit? TPI?

With the new 2023 lineup, I'm serious going to give the T-series a go next May when I turn 50. Might be at TPI, might be at Club Champion. Regardless, I'm finally going to give Titleist  go.

I was fit at a place called Yarra Bend which is in Melbourne, Australia. They opened the fitting early for the Team Titleist members after they finished the pro fittings

I suggest that you reach out to Titleist via their website. They have fittings and can schedule you at one of their public fittings.

I had a fitting 8 days ago with Titleist. Currently play the 2019 T100s irons 7-PW and T200 4,5&6. I am going with the T150 irons 5 -PW with different shafts and a 4 utility iron. I love the head size of my current irons and could not tell a difference in the T150's. My irons have been shipped and are due to me on Monday, 8/7.

I sent an email via their website inquiring about fitting at TPI Oceanside next May. Andy told me they're not taking reservations that far out, but to reach out after the turn of the year. So we'll see then.
